It would also be good to get another big so wiseman can’t just dunk on all of our midgets in practice.

No one wants to be a placeholder either, which probably factors in a lot more than you're giving credit. "Ring chasers" are guys who take less money to go for a ring, not ones who typically take very unstable roles on a team. Not like we got top-end players before (wounded Cousins, Nick Young, end of the road JON & West, Speights, etc etc)

Warriors have zero chance with West this summer compared to that season. Batum not choosing the Warriors over a Clipper team that is missing its best player for the season (most likely) is quite telling.

Its quite telling that we have Poole and drafted Moody/Kuminga. Meaning if those guys prove they deserve minutes, he's hitting the bench. In LAC there's no legit threat to his role, whereas here, the plan would be that his role is eventually phased out. If you can't acknowledge that you're just mad to be mad

Not convinced this is true specifically for Batum. In a 1 year scenario, I'm sure we would have penciled him in for 20 minutes (~15 behind wiggins + a handful with the rest of the starters with draymond at 5), especially come playoff push. Moody/Kuminga likely get the minutes when Klay is out/resting, injuries, and if Kuminga is pushing for more minutes its likely coming from JTA, not a Batum.

But of course he had a lot of other reasons to stay in LA.

I agree. This to me sounds like excuses to rationalize why he chose a team that lost its best player for the entire season over the Warriors.

Richaun Holmes re-signs with Sacramento. 4-year deal worth as much as $55M. Per Shams

there is no need to rationalize anything, he's guaranteed 25-30 minutes in LA, and is still 32, probably eyeing another 3-4 year deal. the best way to do that is to stay in LA and play those 30 minutes and be productive.

Moody's more built for the Wiggins backup role because of his defense, the SF has to be a long, quick, rangy scrambler, and thats not Batum. To sell on Batum, you give him the starting role until Klay is back and then the reserve role when he isn't, but he's now battling for minutes with Poole and Moody at the SG/SF spots, where the Warriors would clearly prefer the development of the 2 kids over Batum. He has no one like that to hold off in LAC.

He chose certainty over uncertainty, as most people in his position would

Definitely not projection here, nope.. its most logical that the franchise that's been in the Finals 5 straight years with a healthy core just cant attract FAs and people dont want to play with Steph anymore.

You're just disappointed that the unrealistic expectations arent being met. This is the Minnesota pick all over again - who are we gonna take at #4!?

Great for the Kings, I really think they are gonna like what Jason Caffey brings to them next season. Some might call him overpaid, but I think Danny Fortson is on the verge of doing some great things in this league. Congrats to Mo Speights
