You might be right about 4/$50. Admittedly I'm no cap guru but I too wonder how they jumped from 4/$50.2M to 4/$55M

Also agreed this is an absolute value deal. One of the kinds of deals that allow you to spend elsewhere.

It may be incentivized. That would trick the money if they did easy ones like fg% or rpg. That way he gets his money but it doesn’t count up front against the cap.

That makes sense and allows it under early Bird rights (47 max) to happen.

I’m very happy with this. It is a rare win for both sides and everyone should be pleased. Richaun has always been one of my favorite underrated players and he worked his ass off the old fashioned way by bringing his lunch pail and his hat hat to work every single day.
And for the team they get a player who is liked and respected by his teammates as a heart and soul guy for a price that is more than reasonable and allows for total future flexibility.

A true win for everyone. Especially us the fans.

Tells me that they already are near a deal to move CJ.

I was saying on the trade board that a CJ/Harris swap makes sense for both sides and works with a fairly equal exchange for need. That would kill Philly as a Buddy trade partner but I still want to go hard core for Siakam. I think he would fit seamlessly here for us.

I was typing up siakam as you posted this. I'd love nothing else but to get that man. Criminally underrated.

I can't see how Philly is a buddy destination. It would require us taking Tobias. Given how much he's paid I think Monte would balk. Defense is the priority this summer, siakam fits that, Harris doesn't.

Maybe there's a 3 team trade out there that makes sense? A team that needs Tobias and has 2 pieces in the 15-20 million range?

Do the clippers want Tobias back?
