Do people really think we’re getting Simmons? I just don’t see it. The idea of Simmons ended for me the moment we got Barnes

Based on what do people still think we’re about to pull the trigger?

I understand being critical of Masai's moves, hell he did make a mistake going all in on Giannis. But this FA IMO isn't one of those things/situations.

Ah ok. In my perfect world, we would have added Suggs and Allen or tried to trade up for Mobley and sign Ball. Obviously most of those aren't clear cut since this requires the teams/players willing to agree on the deals.

I just raised my expectations by hoping for each of those potential lineups instead of being stuck with our current situation. Now I'm pushing us to go all in on the youth movement since there is no other alternative for us.

Rather Kleiber tbh. A big who can space the floor, defend at an average level will help this team alot.

Simmons is definitely who the Raps are targeting. As another posted, it is probably a three way deal between Portland, Sixers and Raptors, with primary pieces being CJ headed to Sixers, Pascal to Portland and Simmons to TO. The only way for Masai to get Morey to deal Simmons to TO was to go through Rich Paul. No way Morey wants Simmons to land in TO with Masai, but he can't piss off Paul.

Obviously you take Kleber but he’s arguably a positive asset and Dragic is a negative one, so I don’t see Dallas doing it

lol we aren't trading for Simmons. Only way Simmons was coming here if it was for Lowry

Dallas still needs Dragic, no way cuban doesn't make that happen and appease Luka and no way we take on term for someone we absolutely don't want

AJ hard to get a read on because he missed last year due to injury. But he'll be with Paolo at Duke and AJ has an all around game so it should be entertaining/

According to Wu Masai and Rich had a meeting today. Which I was totally unaware about. How accurate and the meaning of meeting I don't know.

My guess is Masai wants Simmons (sees a buy low situation, and closest thing to what he missed getting in Giannis), but Morey won't deal with Masai (doesn't want to look like he is another GM to be had by Masai - Morey knows Ben will be better once out of Philly - he and Embiid just don't work together). So only way for Masai to get Morey to deal is through Paul. Hope is probably that Morey doesn't want to piss off Paul, because of his clients (both present and future).

Really surprised Raptors are not in on the Dinwiddie situation.

$60M/3yrs isn't a big ask for a guy like that and we need to move Dragic's deal anyway. Dinwiddie can't get that deal from the Wiz without a S&T and maybe the Nets don't want any long term salary back. Not like we're going to get anything better from Dallas.

As for Simmons, if we're dealing Siakam for him, someone needs to send more value to Toronto. Siakam is better than Simmons.
