I can’t believe y’all are bitching about this deal but then again I’m not surprised. Outside of Duncan Robinson this is the highest level shooter on the market by a wide margin. I just don’t get the vitriol.

its bc he's not 'hood.

people won't like me saying it and will deny it, but deep inside they know its the truth

I don't get it

Explain exactly what it is you mean by "he's not 'hood"

Sounds like something Phil Jackson and his posse would say.

The Celtics just let him go for nothing, and a Magic fan would know more about Fournier than Knicks fans trying to make themselves feel better about spending $60,000 on a Toyota Camry.

Go look at Fournier's career playoff numbers, then take into account he's a terrible defender.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Just tried to share my fair impression about Fournier, nothing else.
I really hope he's better with NYC and think he's a much better fit there. But I guess I've seen enough of him to be able to do a proper judgment.

Alot of people here don't watch other teams which is why you see them simply quoting stats and not talking about actually having seen Fournier. I play a lot of FanDuel so I watch other teams often and also get a good look at opponent production and a decent guard going against Fournier was always a good play because he doesn't defend. He played next to one of the best young defensive players in the league (Isaac) and was still a sieve defensively.

I also watched those Bucks and Raptors series where he couldn't do anything offensively. I know he's fools gold.

Man...I've been respectful, I tryed to give you guys a real overview of Fournier nothing else. You do not need to be rude. You talk like you've won something in the last 50 years...
Good luck with him, you're the team that's overpaying him.

To be fair you're going into another forum trashing a signing when nobody asked you to.. what do you expect the response will be lol

My 2 cents don't matter either, I didn't like Fournier in Orlando at the end but that's because we tried to make him a 2nd option and make it work with Vuc and Gordon for like 6 years straight and not realizing how stupid it was to keep doing that.

Fournier might become a fan favorite actually he is passionate as **** and has a good personality in terms of being a rallying leader, just not someone who's gonna like carry the team. He's pretty consistent as well in terms of shooting percentages but there are games he does nothing at all or just misses everything, so he'll have like 3-4 decent to really good games then just do nothing.. but IMO he was paid very fairly in terms of how he can help a team.

Definitely someone who is who he is though, so still predicated on RJ breaking out and Randle continuing his play from last year.. and I kinda wanna see him play around a bunch of defenders like you guys have. He is weirdly clutch and anti-clutch at the same time. Maddening turnovers but then makes some crazy shots afterwards. Knicks are like my 2nd or 3rd fav team to watch so I wanna see it work out. I can see him being the most consistent scorer even if he's not the leading scorer.

thank you. a fair assessment.

In the playoffs Fournier has averaged 13.5ppg 3.5rpg and 2.0apg on .376 FG% and .333 3FG% in his last 3 series, he doesn't get to the line either. These are the stats that matter, not his regular season numbers and this is what it looks like.

You can try and convince yourselves he's good, but this is in addition to not playing any defense. Imagine we play the Bucks or Sixers in the first round and he's being guarded by Thybulle or Holiday, he didn't even get off against the Nets.

Dude...have you ever seen him play? You're talking about another player. He was MUCH better 3-4 seasons ago.
Orlando was only able to trade him when his big contract was expiring and received literally nothing in return :nonono:
Whatever.

If only Knicks front office played some FanDuel they could have been competent

Haven’t posted here in quite a while, just wanted to chime in and say Fournier isn’t a bad player at all, but the contract seems it was purely made to match contracts down the line to acquire a bigger name.

Didn’t expect much this free agency since the Knicks aren’t ready to take that next step yet, and the Knicks can’t be skipping steps. And it seems like a good thing they won’t.

Only thing Knicks can do at this point is to develop their young players, keep their first rounders, and then when a big fish is ready to be traded, they have the salaries and enough draft capita to send away in a deal.

Knicks are kinda stuck in the middle right now, but we gotta keep establishing a culture, & hopefully RJ takes a giant leap next season. Knicks aren’t bad enough to get a high pick, & not good enough to attract a star player just yet. Fournier can at least shoot and spread the floor which we need. But again, our youngsters like RJ, Mitch, Obi, IQ need to continue to make strides in order to establish a strong foundation and culture around here.

I am pretty sure if we pull receipts a lot of the same posters complaining about signing Fournier are the same ones crying we didn't trade for him at the deadline.
