I'd rather buy him out and take another L. You need to focus everything on our core, not incorporate a crusty vet that doesn't want to be here. Rest of the league knows it.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I have a feeling nothing happens until Friday. Technically he's not on our roster yet until the Lowry acutally signs pen to paper with the Heat. From there we're probably working on agreements for a trade with another team (Dallas) to move him to a situation he wants to be in that at least would give us back some assets. Yes it's going to suck that we won't get any news on it until the end of the week.

I went looking for the source of this rumour and am blown away people have taken this as gospel. This is the state of 'reporting' these days - Fischer's comments on those two podcasts?
The Heat were willing to consider Herro, the same player who was off-limits mid-season, which the Heat laughed at?

- Center was our biggest hole last year, obtain a tweener forward and pass on two guys who didn’t sign astronomical deals with their teams because you couldn’t get a third team involved in a S&T that you knew you were going to do months ago.
- Pick yet another tweener, no offense big (Achiuwa) over a guy who can actually score the ball (Herro) and again failing to realize that the NBA is now about scoring in the playoffs. I normally wouldn’t assume this to be true but with the other baffling decisions they’ve made this off-season, I’m not ruling that out.
- Gave a 22 year old a player option after two years in a good faith effort to create extra space that you’re not going to end up using.
I just can’t.

Even losing Lowry, the roster has too much talent to be a bad team. Unless you are a poorly managed perennially lottery team like Sacramento, the reality of the NBA is that you try to make incremental improvements to go from the tier of fringe playoff teams (early Lowry-DeRozan teams) to the tier just under the legitimate contenders (late Lowry-DeRozan teams).
At that point you need to luck into adding an MVP level player to your roster to be a true contender. This is what all the playoff teams without a guy like LeBron, Giannis, Kawhi, Durant, etc. are trying to do.

Dallas seems adamant in shoving Dwight Powell's contract down our throats, which is the only way they can get Dragic without waiting for a buyout. Not a fan of Powell at all nor his contract extending past this season.
Which at that point I'd rather just hang onto Dragic, buy him out and take the L.

We' re a solid play-in contender as built, but the season isn't starting yet. It's probably more likely we do trades that send a dollar out for four quarters (with some potential) to a contender now. We don't appear to be eyeing win-now moves for sought out talent, so I looks like we will embrace the holding pattern and see what presents itself later. One thing we are committed to is defense and length so we we could in theory be really good at what we do and still be blown out of the gym by a league focused on scoring big and better rebounding than we have. Free agency now may be all about shedding Dragic and assessing our in-season goals based on how we start off. Not mad. The opportunity may again be in picking very high in next year's draft.

Well, we do need a guard who can run the pick and roll, and we could definitely use him in our rotation. Either we trade him somewhere else, or we use our MLE to sign Birch and a rotation guy.
It certainly seems like Dragic will get moved, but he's better than most of the guards available in free agency.

Advertising is a disease. Social media is the delivery mechanism connecting us all like dots, observing us are Matrix robot code and then reporting back to Drone Command for a fee. Ready for a cave existence minus the spike proteins but replete with shoulder launch analog commentary.

I just can’t.
1. Scottie Barnes isn't a project. Anyone who thinks he is a project just doesn't understand. His half-court offense is a project. The rest of his game is not. He will be an impact player from day one and will probably shoot above 30% from 3pt. Barnes should be the least of this rosters concerns.
2. Raptors didn't "pick" Achiuwa over Herro. Herro was never made available. Either way Herro is not a good fit. He is not the same player he was as a rookie and is best to stay away from, he had a kid with an instagram model and is more concerned with being a famous celebrity than playing basketball. Precious is a better fit for the team, he addresses a need and is a proven player on a rookie contract we will have in uniform for a long time. Somehow people are upset because they don't like his measurements? He played well, NBA and olympics. Hes proven.
People like you should skip the Raptors offseasons. You should know Toronto is free agent destination 0. Least desirable spot. Its not like we can just make a few calls and have all the best players dying to come here.
