I don't think the CBA allows newly acquired players to be instantly traded in conjunction with other players.

It has to be a one in, one out kinda deal.

If that's the case the Wizards would have to be sending Bertans to the Nets.

The Bulls are going to have to make another move. After getting Lonzo they are sitting at 105 million or so without counting Markkanen's cap hold. Meaning they will have to renounce him, pay him less than 7 million or dump salary somewhere. This is all assuming Carruso deal goes into the MLE and doesn't count against the cap.

With his cap hold they are at 125 Million so the Lonzo Ball singing is not legal.

Thad Young and a 1st
For
A dead 2nd

????

Thad is a vet and can back up the 4/3.

I’d rather do that than commit to Markkanen long term.

Would you move the New Orleans pick for Coby White or is that an overpay?

Would depend on the protection attached to that NO pick IMO.

Might not be bad, but I'd personally prefer more of a pure point guard.

Traded to cavs, they have too many point guards, they should give us one

I think he'd be a fantastic back up PG for us.

I think the Bulls, Hornets and Pels are working on a three team trade to save cap for everyone involved

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we can give Lauri 3/36 AFTER we use our cap space if a triple sign and trade is discussed with Graham, Lonzo and Lauri

We can really use Lauri's offense and rebounding off the bench

Going to need you guys along with BOB to do a seminar on all this stuff. Even after decades of watching the NBA as a diehard fan this stuff still goes over my head.

We can use cap space on Lauri if we want and keep that 11 million dollar Trade Exception which is good for a full year.

So why not use the TE and keep 7 million in space to take Dragic off the Raptors for free?

I still like Markkanen's upside. Every time I watch the Bulls play it feels like everyone who has the ball is looking to get their own bucket. I'm interested to see what he looks like on a team with a real PG that actually plays team basketball. I still think it's possible for him to become a 20/10 guy on the right team. Although at this point I'm not sure if it would make much sense to use our remaining capspace on a big that can't defend when we still have a hole at backup PG

I'm just really not that into Markkanen at all. And I don't think he is an upgrade on PJ. I don't see a player like Markkanen addressing any needs of ours.

The only way I'd be down would be if it were a 3 way that involves us, the Bulls and a 3rd team that sends:
- Markkanen to the 3rd team
- A PG from the 3rd team to us
- *us allowing the Bulls the cap space to facilitate their FA signings and trades.

* = with the Bulls providing us compensation in the way of draft capital.

We could really use his scoring off the bench. Markkanen is a much better scorer than PJ, he is just injury prone and played in a really crappy Bulls system for multiple bad head coaches. Also an automatic FT shooter

Bulls can just renounce Lauri and they have enough space to facilitate their signings, so they would likely be looking for a small asset in a sign a trade for Lauri, otherwise they can just let him leave for free and still be fine.

Markkanen is good, but he is another injury prone player. He has played 50-52 games 3 seasons in a row.

I'd offer something for Coby White. He is from NC too.

Who care's if he is "automatic" from the FT line when he only has 1 or 2 FTA's per game?

Gotcha.

So us or the 3rd party team would have to kick in something like a 2nd round pick going to the Bulls?

Depending on the PG that would be a small price to pay IMO.

Do the Pelicans believe in Kira Lewis?

Could we pry Nickeil Alexander-Walker away from them?

Pretty sure they're aiming for Kira/NAW to start at the 1 and 2 this year.
