I don't see why anyone has to throw in extra stuff. The Spurs get the younger player for less money. The Bulls get the guy they want.
Aminu is a 1 year expiring who is good filler.
.........
Just doing the money here:
Tax line $136m
Vuc $24m
Lavine $19.5m
Thad $14.2m
Pat $7.4m
Coby $5.9m
Lonzo $20m?
Caruso $9m?
TBJ $5.2m
Green $2m
Ayo $1m?
Total = 108.2m
If they can get Derozan for 20 to 25m they still have room to add a few players. Next year, Thad leaving pays for Lavine's raise.

Maybe they're just waiting for Lauri to realize that he isn't going to get $20M/yr.

Gar whispered that in David Griffin's ear. That's why the Bulls got Lonzo

Re: Windhorst: Bulls Interested in DeRozan
I read on a spurs board that the hold up is the spurs think they can steal John Collins from the Hawks and if the Hawks reached a deal on Collins the derozan and lauri deal would be done by now. Once Collins re ups with the Hawks (more than likely) we get derozan.
Don't know how true that is but kinda makes sense. The spurs prefer collins over lauri.

AK wouldn't like to be called KGB superagent, I am quite sure of that. Might look at it as insult even. Lithuanians don't like to be called russian in any way and sees that as ignorant and offensive.

I'm just up for bringing in more talent to this team. We'll figure out later how Derozan fits with the team. It's a good problem to have.
What I like about Ball, Lavine, Derozan, Vuc is that I think all have chip on their shoulders trying to prove something.

Pretty much agreed. Brooklyn didn't really worry about the fit, they acquired talent. Philly does the same thing but they seem to shift their team too much for chemistry to work itself out, ie they should have held onto Butler and not done the horrors deal etc...
DD while not ideal is our best option right now. Surely not the favored team but with him and if the stars all line up we have a punchers chance albeit at very very long odds but still. We also would have pieces to trade for a different star... ie you could package DD and Vuc to another team for their star etc... We would have more usable assets to work with even if they aren't 100% ideal. I will say this while not happy with the Vuc trade, Vuc has more asset value than Wagner does or anyone else we would have picked @ #8 imho. That being said if this team gets built properly as it looks like it is being attempted its good enough to have Vuc as is.

Been saying this since last year. Worry about how things fit when we are competing for a title. Right now we not even a clear play in team yet.
Stock pile the assets and get as much talent as we can. If derozan doesn't fit, guess what we can flip him for another piece. And we keep flipping till something works. But it's a helluva lot easier to flip and figure out the roster with ball Caruso Vucevic and derozan than it is with satoransky thad young valentine temple and mokoka. I love the direction we are going.
If this doesn't work we have so many players with value we can fire sale for real and REALLY tank the right way for a change with a treasure chest of picks and young prospects.

Exactly bring in the best talent that you can and let Donovan and his coaching staff figure it out. Not sure why anyone wouldn’t want Derozen at this point.

Bulls out: Lauri and Coby
MIN in: Lauri
MIN out: FRP
SA in: Coby, FRP

Best case scenario would be to get Derozen for Lauri/Aminu and keep Coby. Having Coby off the bench or even start when someone’s out would be awesome.

I'm always worried about the Heat stealing him, or the Hawks.

The Bulls don’t need to add Coby White in a trade to get DeRozan.

What’s your thinking on that? I think adding Coby or a similar asset is necessary both to balance asset quality and to match salaries.

Hawks possible I dont see it with the heat what do they have to send the spurs?
Derozan can talk all that pay cut talk. There is a reason it's still held up because I'm sure someone said dude bulls willing to give you 25 mill plus you better take that money.

Don't see the point in adding coby at all
Spurs and bulls got the same agenda seek an asset for a player so they don't lose them for nothing. Minny needs to add whatever extra asset if they want in the 3 team deal.

The Timberwolves don't have the caspase to make that offer. Just deal directly with the Spurs Markkanen and Aminu for DeRozen in a sign and trade. 3 years $60M

Lauri for Derozan then you trade Thad to Wolves for Vanderbilt and Culver.
