No, Miami and Toronto could expand the Lowry deal, Lowry taking less to recruit his good friend DeRozan while Miami also "could" add other players like Herro and KZ in there to increase the amount of money coming back then replacing those bodies with 0 exp rookies on the minimum. For example KZ made under 900k his first year.

There's the mostly unrealistic Iggy S&T and being on the hook for a 3 year contract move and a less unrealistic move of sending Oladipo out so Oladipo gets a "decent" 3 year contract of only 10-15 mil per year.

Reality is we're gonna need another PF in order to load manage Tucker during the RS
Iggy is a minimum signing. I don't see why they're give up anything at all for him

Exactly he's nothing more then a vet minimum. Only way a team is taking him on for any significant is for Tyler Herro and it's going to have to be a destination that Iguodala agrees too. It's not going to be Sacramento and the Spurs already turned him down and drafted a rookie they really like at the two in Josh Primo.

Sure, but he could still get free money for the next 3 years if Miami wanted to send out Herro + Iggy's filler contract for another 5-12 million past Herro's 4 mil in a trade. It would just depend how much a team would want a guy like Herro. Then if Nunn takes the QO, Miami would still retain Nunn's bird rights for next year.

There's still some interesting things Miami can do but it'll be tight.

Expand the Toronto/Miami trade with SA, get Lowry to give up 5 mil and utilize nearly all money up to the hard cap... and could toss in Herro or KZ to get 1-4 more million in the trade plus Iggy signed as filler.

Why won't he be there?

He'll probably be on the Vegas squad.

I'm not giving up Herro to salary match, KZ makes almost nothing and he's kinda needed now whether people believe in him or not. Give Iggy a small deal with a wink wink agreement on a buyout so he goes to GSW in a few months, add cash considerations.

Or

What's the highest number we could pay Nunn? maybe his market is low enough that he stays here for now with the idea of trading him to a desired destination later.

Yeah, technically you're correct, but the problem with this is the value in a player like Herro is the low cost for this year. After this season, he's due an extension. By attaching Iggy to him at any kind of salary, you take away the cheap year and you make the next year all the more expensive.

Right, but Iggy could coordinate a buyout or do another Memphis situation with him before the trade. Herro's pluses isn't just his contract now but holding his RFA rights 2 years from now.

KZ makes around 1.7 mil, he could be replaced with a 0 experience guy at around 900k giving Miami an extra 800 to send out.

Shouldn't we be the team going after Lauri Markkannen right now? This team still needs front court help in the very worst way.

A 25 points, 5 3's, 15 rebounds game from Omer Yurtseven would sure be nice tonight.

If we get DeRozan, Herro is gone. Only way to make it work so we can give him a decent contract that he’d consider getting paid less to play here.
And I am OK getting rid of Herro’s T-Rex arms and one dimensional game for DeRozan or a starting PF.
Struss is the second shooter.

Josh Hart still unsigned. Listed at 6'5" but managed to grab 8.0 rpg last season and is a career 35% from 3 despite a career-low 33% in 2021

Would be an ideal PF for Spo except he's only 26yo but perhaps we could still attempt a S&T swap for Nunn?

If Herro goes we probably end up signing Danny Green.

Not exactly, say Miami adds DeRozan somehow, he could start at PF allowing Miami to bring PJ off the bench, if DeRozan isn't giving Miami an advantage at PF, you could shift him to a wing during the game and go with PJ, Bam and Dedmon at PF and C. It would allow Spoelstra to play how he wants and also allow him to make some nice in game adjustments.

Also for rebounding, Lowry is a better rebounder than Nunn so Miami is getting a small upgrade from the starting PG position.

Maybe if we tie him to a pole under south beach sun he'll get wrinkly enough to turn Spo on

If we can somehow sneak Kendrick Nunn back on the team for cheap I think it would be nice to have someone of his caliber who's familiar with the team and can score off the bench backing up our aging PG. He'll get quality minutes most nights and a few starts during load management nights. The backup PG market is looking a bit rough right now.
