Nice guy but brutal player on the court. Why he was playing minutes over Nesmith early on is the kind of stuff historians will one day ponder and seek answers for.

If only his arms were longer.

I love Semi, classic binki material. Good luck to him but Nesmith and Langford need to be getting all of the back up wing minutes now.

"The One That Got Away" when all it's said and done. Franchise killing move letting him go.

He should've been a weightlifter. :(

GL, Semi!
Good assessment:

The bucks knew there was only one man who can contain Giannis so they had to lock semi up obvi.

People complain Ojeleye took away minutes? Who will be the next target? Who's the excuse? Maybe those players aren't as good as you hope they are if Semi 'this boards favorite joke' Ojeleye took away their minutes.

Semi Ojelelye was the best 2nd round pick production we had in ages, while by no means a good player what so ever. He did what he was told to do. Defend and shoot open threes. Can't say that about alot of draft picks.

It's not as much as Semi taking away minutes from other guys as the fact that guy like him shouldn't be playing 15 mpg for four freaking years. And the fact that he did is indicative of the FO's failure to address or even acknowledge such need. He's a 12th man who's 8th-10th in the rotation (even starting at times). He's mediocre at best at the two things he can actually do (defend and shoot 3s) and does absolutely nothing else. Losing him is the only good thing about this FA period so far.

I appreciate he's no longer on the roster. At least he went to a good team so good for him.

Agreed. Seemed like a great person and teammate but just not good enough to be more than an end of bench guy. Despite that, Brad seemed compelled to give him practice-effort/seniority minutes over younger guys, so trading him was needed.

Good luck in Milwaukee and beyond Semi —

One time someone called you full Ojeleye and that was my favorite part of your career here. Congrats on getting paid.

Another casualty in the quest for a white whale. Of course better players (Crowder, Olynyk) were also casualties in similar quests.

A better than average 2nd round pick -- and there's caution in that tale: keep expectations low, very low, after Silver gives up the gavel on draft night.

Don’t confuse minutes with productivity. Gomes was productive because he helped us net Garnett. Powe was productive because he won us a Finals game. Moore has had a productive career, albeit, not with us. Ojeleye is going up against guys like Demetrius Jackson, Jordan Mickey…so the bar has been set really low this past decade. Semi did what he was told of him because he didn’t have the capacity to do anything else. Couldn’t pass, put the ball on the floor…hell, he played 950 minutes last year without a solitary block.

We were considered one of the top teams in the east going into last season and we were giving a guy like Semi consistent minutes when most teams wouldn’t play him any minutes at all. A guy like Nesmith was infinitely more productive on the court and it would have been nice to let him take his lumps earlier on so he could have been trusted with a bigger role as the season progressed. Nesmith was a lottery talent. If you refuse to develop guys like that, something is wrong in the process.
