It's only on NBC's streaming service. Which sucks, but hey, it's only $5 for the month.

I'm seeing all the games live on the nbcolympics.com website. They even have replays the next morning of the games that are in the middle of the night for US Eastern time.

There are streams of all the broadcast and cable network coverage, plus separate streams of specific events (such as basketball games).

The catch is that you have to log in with your cable TV account. So if you don't have one of the eligible cable TV services, you may not be able to access it.

Yeah, I don't have cable so I had to get a Peacock account. Which is fine; it's dirt cheap. I guess it's just a sign of the times as cable continues to die. I never, ever would have imagined going without it 10 years ago. But having always hated how they charged you in tiers, and forced you to buy a bunch of channels you didn't want -- what other business does this? -- I was only too happy to cut the cord once I figured out how viable it was and, shockingly, I haven't missed it at all.

Australia destroyed them in garbage time, while Slovenia gave away the 4th quarter.

Slovenia was leading by 22 after 3 quarters. Australia was leading by 12.

I don't know who is better, but this looks like a poor argument to me.

Let's not compare players with legitimate ties with the country (Mannion, Thybulle, most Nigerian players) with naturalized players like Schilb and Tobey. It's not the same at all.

Schilb is actually the EXACT same as Mannion (One Czech parent, one American). It is the same though, they’re all American raised/developed players competing for foreign national teams. I think it’s great, Americans are the best basketball players in the world and it’s helpful to have them on your team.

You're acting like Tobey is some kind of superstar in Europe lol... It just so happens that our team was short on centers due to injuries and Tobey just simply fits perfectly in to our system and also plays great with Doncic. If we didn't have Luka and we lost all 3 quali games, you wouldn't even say a word.

Wait. Schilb has a Czech parent. If that's the case then he is not controversial at all. Players of mixed heritage should be free to represent whichever of the two countries they desire. I do not consider them naturalized.

I know exactly what Tobey is and isn’t. He’s been great in Kaunas, great in Tokyo and had a really solid season as a backup Euroleague center. I don’t consider it some type of asterisk that he’s helping Slovenia win. I had fun watching Anthony Randolph help you win in 2017 and Bo McCalebb go on his run with Macedonia back in the day. Impactful Americans make me more likely to pull for your team. It’s Euros who seem to be ashamed of relying on them.

Uhm they did demolish us? At least that was the most lopsided game that we played the whole tournament, including the game against Australia. We never stood a chance for the whole game, always lagging behind by around 10 points. It never was out of control for Slovenia. We had no consistent offense and everytime we seemed to get on a run, Slovenia countered it easily.

If thats an option for you and you are capable of using google translator you could use a VPN, switch your location to germany and watch the games through livestreams provided by the german main TV station. It's free for everyone living in germany.

https://tokio.sportschau.de/tokio2020/live/livestreams180.html

You can watch every game and every competition at the olympics there. Some of them are without commentary though I bet that might be even better for you if you don't have a german commentary :D

Exactly, one of these is not like the others.

Thybulle spent his childhood in Australia and legitimately started in the Australian junior systems before moving back to the US in elementary school.

He was a dual citizen before he made the NBA.

He wasn't naturalized for the purposes of winning basketball tournaments.

On a separate note, Jock Landale should be in the NBA. Wouldn't be surprised to see him snapped up after the tournament.

Logic says Gold: USA, Silver: FRA, Bronze: AUS
But I wouldn't bet on anything, everybody's fired up and those are knock out games, anything can happen
Should be great to watch, can't wait :D
