Why not both?

Patty Mills TPMLE / Iguodala vet min

Curry / Mills / Poole
Klay / Moody / DLee
Wiggins / Porter / Iguodala
Green / JTA / Kuminga
Bjelica / Wiseman / Looney

This. Iggy would be fun from a vet stability thing and maybe a few key moments in a playoff run.
But Mills on the Warriors and NOT on Lakers is the key.

Iguodala as a coach.

Mills can go anywhere he wants, don't really care to have him.

Looney is starting

Or Wiseman again. I didn't want him starting last year, but he did ... Don't know that it's clear he wouldn't start over Looney/Bjelica this year.

he shouldn't, until he shows he's capable of playing with Steph/Klay and learns how to set a screen. ain't no time to babysit this year...Looney is much more dependable at this point until further notice.

Wiseman was a large negative on the court last season. Let him earn his starting spot if he's able to this upcoming season.

Kerr was talking about just finding a role for him. I don't think at all that included the possibility of starting.

Loon / Wiseman / Bjelica

i dont know if we have any space for Lee/Mulder, unless Paschall is on his way out

Looney has demonstrated that he knows how to play with our big 3 and his screen setting is a key part of getting good looks for Steph and Klay. Wiseman clearly hasn't demonstrated this chemistry yet and I think he would be more valuable as a member of the 2nd unit. Less pressure on him to learn the ropes and we could use his scoring ability, which is clearly beyond what Looney can provide, to give us some more offensive punch when Steph is sitting.

I'd say Mulder and Paschall are gone, and Lee is on very thin ice. Jessup back to Australia. One or two more signings. I'm sure they would want to go in with 14 on the roster, both for the money and flexibility.

Is there any traction on EP to Utah?

Anyway we can take Ingles back for s&t oubre and send a future first?

I'm pretty much there. Mulder is certainly gone.

If Paschall is traded that brings it down to 14. Lee and GP2 still to go.

I would guess 1 more FA signing.

It's possible but not at all likely.

Why? He's played minutes at Center before, he isn't getting younger and he's not a great fit next to our other Centers on defense, but complements our non-shooting 4s (Green, possibly Kuminga) well and works nicely in a five-out offense if we want to run it.

No he really hasn't, that's why it's weird to me. See below

I could see him as the 4 next to Dray @ 5 but he is not a center and shouldn't get a lot of minutes there without Dray on the floor

As per https://www.cleaningtheglass.com/stats/player/296/positions#tab-team_efficiency

he played 43% of the time at center last year, but he's never really done that before and wasn't his most efficient year. Maybe he can get some minutes there but I don't think he should be starting at C or anything like that

Miami clearly saw him as a 4/5 last year. In the last two seasons with SAC, he played a lower share of minutes at the 5 but the line-ups were MUCH better in those instances. It's quite normal for players to transition upwards in the position order as they age (e.g. Aldridge). Why shouldn't he be able to play the role that, for example, Kelly Olynyk has played for years (very comparable players by the boxscore). Or better yet, think of David West who was always a PF until he played virtually exclusively at C for us.

As of now, I think he clearly is the best fit next to Dray if we want to increase our spacing. We have missed that option for some time now. I don't see him as a great fit on defense next to Wiseman. Next to Looney – maybe, but I do believe Looney greatest value is when we want to play switch-heavy defense with some size and in that case Bjelica doesn't fit again.

Also, let's not forget that Bjelica was a starter the two years before this last one. It is natural in the NBA to downsize as the game goes on. Bjelica off the bench against back-up 5s of other teams is very different from Bjelica as a starter versus teams' regular starting 5s.

We'll have to wait and see but I do believe at this point that Bjelica is likely used to provide us with a different option at the 5 that we have been missing as of late. That is his main value as far as I'm concerned. Bob Myers was also talking about a bringing in a shooting big – and that is him.

We dodged that bullet if it was ever under consideration.

RE:Bjelica @ 5

Small sample size last year and he’s not the same player he was when he played in SAC. I don’t see it at this point but hey maybe I’m wrong.

Still think we need insurance at the 5.

I feel like Lee is closer to being a lock than being mentioned. There were huge chunks of last season where Lee/Baze were both playing fantastic next to the starters and we were all begging for either of them to take the Oubre role. Lee is a good bench player.

To me its Paschall, Nico, Jessup that are battling for the last spots.

1. Steph
2. Klay
3. Dray
4. Wiggins
5. Looney
6. Poole
7. TPMLE
8. JTA
9. Otto
10. Wiseman
11. Kuminga
12. Moody
13. Bjelica
14. Lee
15. Paschall / Jessup / Nico / GP2

I think they trade Paschall for future pick (s), use the TPMLE on a guard, talk Nico into one last 2way, and give Jessup that last spot.

My take: Agree on Paschall, Nico is guaranteed a 2-way (he has a QO for that), unless Jessup kills it in SL he'll be back in Australia (Warriors keep his rights), I only see one question with that current group and that's GP2. 11 of the top 15 scorers in the NBA are guards, a lot in the West, and until Klay shows he's back they don't really have anyone who can deal with them. Klay might be the end of the year (or never, who knows) before he could do the job. It seems to me they gave GP2 his partially guaranteed contract to see if he could play that role, at least part of the time. They have training camp to find out.

I think it's entirely possible the TPMLE goes unused.

Nico is likely back on a 2-way.

I am actually not 100% convinced they will use the (full) TP-MLE, considering the additional costs in luxury tax. But let's see...

Yup this is definitely in play. My main point being Lee seems to be a lock for a roster spot at this point.

If Paschall is traded there is basically room for 2 players assuming Jessup and GP2 are not on the roster.
