Joe Ingles (rumored to be available)
Dante Exum
Enes Kanter
Shane Larkin (he's been killing it overseas)
Paul Milsap

He let Daniel Theis, Rodney Hood, Alec Burks, and Ojeleye get away.

let's be real, which free agent is making their decision on "it would be cool to play with Hayward 45 times a year"? They're going with whoever offers them the fattest contract or a chance at a title.

I wouldn't mind Joe Ingles here at all but now we have a gaping hole at backup PG that needs filling :banghead:

Hayward would be the messenger, Melo would be the primary motivator.

I think at least one or two players we get will be via trade.

Slim picking left on the market.

Exactly, several teams don't have the cap space to complete their free agent signings. The cap casualty market is going to be pretty robust.

gone are the guys who fill more than two of those needs at a time.

I'm pretty sure there were never any players than filled MORE than two of those needs at a time. That would be quite the player.

As far as players that fill at least two -- Patty Mills and Reggie Jackson are still available. They fill 1 and 2 on your list.

Man you're really down on this offseason lol.

Mills is gone (BRK) and Reggie Jackson might be even less of a PG than Rozier is. Now what

I wonder if there will be any quality players waived that we might be able to snap up with our cap space for the back up roles we need filled.

Ntilikini is who I would get. He would be a decent backup PG and is young and can still develop. On the cheap how about Justin Jackson? Another young wing player who could stretch the floor if he can get his shot right or if we need a bench scorer there is also this dude that was supposed to tear up the league out of Kentucky, Malik Monk. He can be had for cheap.....

I don't see another center out there and feel like we are going to run with Plumlee, PJ, Carey this year.

Ntilikina averaged 3 points last season.

He is pretty bad. If we're gonna sign a backup PG who can't shoot, go for Elf Payton.

I would say no to Frankie Smokes. Just can't shoot well enough.

There's a name that I would consider. I know this board has some PTSD from his fans, but JLin can run backup point, be a grown up, and he's been here before. Showed he could still ball from the G league last year. Vet minimum, he would be happy to have a spot and wouldn't demand PT.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

I was specifically referring to his 5 point checklist and looking for a player that ticked more than 2 of those boxes. I was simply saying I'm not sure there was any player that ticked more than 2. Although "locker room leader" is a bit subjective.

As far as backup point in general, I trust Mitch and Co.

Miami just pulled QO for Nunn. He's not really a PG, but he's out there flapping in the wind.

Kendrick Nunn is an UFA now that Miami pulled his qualifying offer. Just saying.

He should be our top target now.

- We need a backup PG.
- He is a PG.
- We can afford him.

Good for Monk. He should get plenty of minutes with all of the old heads on that roster trying to get through a regular season without crippling themselves.

That Lakers team is kinda hilarious. Bron, Westbrook, Carmelo, Howard.

Monk will certainly help that the Lakers get through the regular season allowing some of the Vets to rest. I suspect he will be firmly glued to the bench the deeper they get in the playoffs however.

Not sure living in LA is going to do him any favors as a person but he should give them some much needed youth

He needed to go to a tanking team to develop and prove he can be an NBA player

Monk had his moments, but he was wildly inconsistent and missed a ton of games for a guy that isn't physical
