Lakers with the richest TV deal and in a massive market act like a small market team cutting one of their key championship pieces to dodge the tax after nearly a decade of not paying tax, while we have these billionaires adding tens of millions to their tax bill just for a MLE signing.

Melo? Really? It's like Pelinka's trying to do what's supposed to be impossible and make a team with LeBron unwatchable.

Before last year Monk was a 32% career shooter. He's gonna regress, especially with the downgrade in spacing going to the Lakers

Both are AWFUL defenders

Monk is a career 34% guy, one good year

Better be for the min

Wtf is our roster rn?

Russ, Baze, Bron, AD, Gasol
Monk? Ellington, THT? Melo? Dwight

Are we **** insane????

Monk and Wayne should be 1 role, not 2

Where is the good wing defender?

LA's FO is legitimately Cavs tier lmao. Going on 15 years dealing with this **** as a LeBron fan minus the 4 years in Miami. If he were drafted to an intelligent org like Duncan or made better FA decisions he would have 7 or 8 rings by now

Monk is a really good signing. Especially if they got him for more than 1 year.

He's a shooter and is young and improving.

His mechanics and pedigree lead me to believe he's closer to the 40% we saw last year than we saw early in his career, no shock that as soon as he played with a real PG (LaMelo) he started to shoot good again. He will get plenty of open looks off Westbrook and Lebron.

Defensively, he's not as bad as the metrics say. He's got a 6-7 wingspan (good for his height) and competes. He'll be at least passable IMO.

Pleasantly surprised by the Monk signing. A 23 year old lottery pick with tons of upside.

On the positive side, the Lakers definitely have better shooting than last year and have better shot creators to buoy the offense without LeBron. Defense has definitely taken a hit, but I guess this is when AD earns his big bucks. Anchor that defense and go win that DPOY

The Monk signing is good value for a young shooter. Hate the entire idea of signing Melo but not surprised at all.

Monk is gonna be another version of JR methinks. An all around skillset/athleticism guy that can't put it together consistently but at least he competes. Also maybe Monk just took a leap with his shooting last year. Kemba and Devonte Graham's shot improvement means the hornets development staff is certified in my book.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

I have hope that our defense will be fine, because Vogel is a great defensive coach, but yeah Davis is going to have to play at least at the same level that the 2020 season ... He can and I believe he will be able to do it if he is healthy (similar to 2020) but I know it's a big IF right now

No clue why Monk would take the minimum being 23 years old and having a career year, but that's great for the Lakers.
