Monk really wasn’t that good last year. There’s a chance he is a benchwarmer in the playoffs for them. He rode the bench at times for a not great Charlotte team last year.

If we bring back Khem Birch, I still feel good heading into next season.

Fred VanVleet / Malachi Flynn
Gary Trent Jr
OG Anunoby / Scottie Barnes
Pascal Siakam / Chris Boucher
Khem Birch / Precious Achiuwa

No shortage of size on that team. Goran Dragic could fit as a guard on the second unit. Hopefully they can flip him for someone a little younger. You have Yuta Watanabe, Paul Watson and Freddie Gillespie as depth pieces and Dalano Banton and David Johnson to develop. They can cut Sam Dekker as far as I'm concerned.

The simpler answer is the Lakers have no depth and Malik Monk saw the Lakers as a team where he could both play, compete and showcase his skills for his next contract.

ya I have no idea why they took Yuta over him. I was even saying this guy has good skill and is long. Was shocked Yuta beat him out .

The heat got better but not as much as the media is portraying. Lakers look like a retirement home. The balance hasnt shifted at all this offseason

Really odd decision. Love Yuta but he’s nothing special

Part of the reason i want to give the young guys on the team minutes and not sign anyone in free agency to play in front of them

I think its a great pickup for them. Lakers had no money to spend and somehow landed Malik Monk for the minimum. Part of me wonders if there’s some shady sh*t going on behind the scenes.
