Gonna be great having him on the bench finally. I have a strong feeling he will be our next head coach.

If he isn’t then something went very wrong.

Doug to me is a lot like Monty Williams to PHX. Great basketball mind, hard worker who knows what it takes to win. Players love him too.

Congrats to Doug. I know he will bring energy to the bench.

Doug always talked about picking up full court my hope is he's on those guys about defense.

Is that a better gig than the booth, and does it bias him on his radio show (he was already a camper)?

His time in the booth and on KHTK has come to an end. His radio show was awful.

I have high hope that his time in the booth will end up being like Kerr - an opportunity to thoroughly scout the league and have total and complete understanding.

Mixed feelings.

1 hand says this is a fantastic move for the Kings coaching staff.

Other hand says I can't stand losing Grant and Doug in back to back years.

Going to have to start muting the TV.

Really curious who takes over. I’m assuming we still get Mark Jones part time. He’s perfectly fine. Maybe Koz is back? Kayte? C-Webb back in Sacramento? There are plenty of possibilities. Deuce and Mo would be cool.

Unpopular opinion. Id be thrilled if Chris came to Sac.

I didn't mind him at all.

And while I appreciate what Kayte/Koz bring to the team, I don't want them to be full time announcers. But I have a feeling its Kayte/Mark/Kyle Draper this season.

I’m always against nepotism and it seems nepotism-y whenever we bring back former Kings players into the organization.

But when it comes to this case, DC as assistant coach, I believe this is the right move since DC always say the right things on the broadcast. He always had the brain to coach at some capacity IMO.

I’m fine with this.

I’d be down for Webber as well. He and Jones would be a good team. I agree with you regarding Kayte/Koz, but Kayte is improving. I don’t think she’s ready yet. Not much of a fan of Draper. He’s ok, but he kinda says the same thing over and over. He’s on top of plays, but he’s just kinda boring. It just shows that being a commentator is a hard job to fill adequately.

Would you be ok with C-Webb?

As part of the commentating team?

Sure since he has experience working with TNT and their crew over there.

Yeah. I guess I misread the nepotism comment as including commentating as well. I see you were referring to coaching and the actual team. I think Webber would be a good addition to the broadcast now that he’s a free agent. Not sure what his plans are now. I could see him following the coaching path though, which would be a situation like the nepotism that you mentioned before.

Doris would be a great get. Webber was terrible as a commentator on TNT lol.

Well I guess this gives us a clue.

Yup I thought so. I don't mind Kayte, it's not the worst choice.

But to me Jones/Kayte is a far cry from Reynolds/napear/Christie

Maybe if Wes unseld jr. Doesn't work out for the Wizards he can be our next coach.
Bye bye Beal.
