same.

what will help is knowing how much of the $78m is incentive-based.

If it helps, he’s currently the 16th highest paid SG (same as Nerlens at C). Above him: Gary Harris at 21 mill, Oladipo 21ish, Hield 23.5. Paid the same: Zach Lavine, who is going to shoot up this list soon. Just below: Eric Gordon, Joe Harris, THJ, Powell, Boggy, Levert, Gary Trent. This is based on AAV btw.

Once you get into 13 mill, you see names like Kennard, Reddick, KCP…it’s just how dudes are paid at the position.

It’s not a bad signing from my POV. Wish we could have allocated resources better elsewhere with some other signings but I’m good with this one. We have him for his prime, Thibs can presumably scheme for his defense, and he adds much needed scoring and floor spacing. Plus Celtics had to replace his ass with crappy version of JRich so I’m cool with it.

i feel you. mehdi better get with the defensive program. offensively he's a very good fit on the wing. if he gives effort and contributes to winning he'll be well worth it.

he is absolutely trusting us with his prime, which is something. i'd like to think he's up to the challenge.

Fournier is what we needed. I take Fournier with his contract over any big signing this off-season. We need more players like him that are proven to torture best players in the league. Next up Carlos Arroyo. Bring the legend from retirement.

Where's the pages and pages of "FIBA Fournier" posts? If Frank did anything close to this everybody would be calling him a superstar.

FIBA Frank back at it

The Frank hype will be remembered as one of those moments of collective madness where the retired Frankfrooters will look back at it and wonder "How could I have done this" like the families that moved to Jonestown.

People are underestimating how good Fournier is going to be. He was a top two option on a borderline playoff team in the Magic for his whole stint there. Stat wise he is identical to Bogdan and you see the impact he had on the Hawks last year. As our 3rd/4th option I think he has a chance to feast

He promotes passing too. He plays well with Kemba. RJ is a team guy and Randle would be happy for hockey assist bc its not going to Payton, Frank, Knox, DSJ...

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/263883/Celtics-Send-Evan-Fournier-Two-2nd-Rounders-To-Knicks-In-Sign-And-Trade-For-TPE

The New York Knicks have acquired Evan Fournier from the Boston Celtics in a sign-and-trade that nets them two second round picks.

Boston will create a traded player exception as part of the deal worth approximately $17.1 million.

The Celtics similarly created a trade exception when they sent Gordon Hayward to the Charlotte Hornets.

According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the picks will be the top-55 protected second rounder in 2023 from the Hornets and the worst of a 2023 second round pick from either the Oklahoma City Thunder or Washington Wizards, or the better pick between the Dallas Mavericks or Miami Heat.

That's a friggin complicated ass 2nd rounder lol. I'm guessing that first Hornets 2nd is going to be trade bait.

Not sure how I feel about the Knicks FO giving a division rival and direct conference competition for a playoff seed another opportunity to improve their team with a huge exception since they are capped.

All that for what amounts to as one 2nd rounder because the other pick is unlikely to convey with the protection. Is there any other advantage for the Knicks to do this? Am I missing something?

I think we will get the third-best second-rounder among OKC, Wizards, Dallas, and Miami.

yeah its basically one 2nd round pick because the other is heavily protected and the CHA 2nd rounder wont convey.
