And yet the deal still hasn't been made official because we can't find a taker for Dragic it seems. I dont think everything was thought through before free agency opened otherwise we wouldn't be left with a player we don't seem to want.

thats not how the cap works, once you operate as a cap space team you cant go over the cap and then use MLE and BAE
you can only use room MLE the 2yr 10 mil.

No other team out there was gonna send us anything else. Lakers option died when they got Westbrook. Philly is too stingy and never even were rumored to be going after Lowry seriously in FA. It was literally just S&T with Miami or nothing at all

to absorb contracts into space, you need cap space (or large enough TPE)
all the moves they have made and structured, they are operating as over the cap team(MLE/BAE)
so they dont have cap room to absorb dragic

go read a few athletic articles if you want confirmation.

start of free agency they had 30mil potential cap space (after trading josh richardson)

they chose to resign tim haradaw for 18 per, keep the TPE from josh Richardson trade. then stay over the cap and use MLE and BAE.

It doesn't seem to be benefiting us as we got stuck with an unwanted contract that took all our cap space away. Just frustration on my part for a horrible offseason thus far.

It doesn't seem to be benefiting us as we got stuck with an unwanted contract that took all our cap space away. Just frustration on my part for a horrible offseason thus far.

We got a top end prospect in Achiuwa. Dragic is a solid player. We can either trade him this off-season or at the deadline. We cant even make any moves on him until Friday.

I'm not sure what people dont understand.

We are going young. This is actually the best direction we could be going as a franchise. If people want mediocrity, you can follow the Knicks
