Always loved the dude in toronto and miami. loved how tough he played. nets just signed him to replace jeff green. he was recently in minnesota. does he have anything left in the tank?

Re: Talk to me about James Johnson
He's got skill, but hasn't been a focal point offensively since his early days in TOR and MIA. I still think he's go a capable amount of shots to provide nice complement to BKNs offensive team. He's a solid defender and won't tank the scheme. The big thing is that Johnson should always play with one of the big 3, as setting screens and helping them get separation to shoot or playmake will be the best outcome.
Cheers

Re: Talk to me about James Johnson
When he was here he was pretty cool. He seemed invested in the team even though he probably figured he was gonna be moved. Was an asset on the floor, good energy, didn't back down. All in all a good player, maybe not a difference maker on a bad team but could win some plays for you. Good guy to have in the locker room, bring some toughness.
I kind of make it sound like he's a guy who can't contribute much, he can, he could have a 10+ point game and get 7 boards it just probably wont happen on the regular.

When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

He can fight and is a perfect enforcer for a soft team like the Nets

I kinda miss him, he was tough all around and he was way more versatile then expected when we signed him, could handle multiple tasks. Hadnt seen him much before due to injury issues in Miami last year. But he was being a bonafide off bench point forward with some very decent skill for us, and hustling on every play. Still just a depth guy, but he did his thing with a limited roster, very team first guy that did most of the intagible things you take for granted. Screens, faciliates effortlessly, defends perimeter, bangs down low with bigs, decent spot up etc. All around player.
Liked his attitude too. Usually these journeyman are lukewarm mercenaries, but for us Johnson was the most enegetic and most hyped up at all times for us, this is a guy passing through playing with a broken roster of kids, and he was really into it, could see him spreading the enthusiasm to the youngsters each game. Proper competitve glue guy.
It also goes without saying he is tough as nails, Jeff Green is more offensively talented player, but if there something left in the tank, I would guess that JJ will be a better all around team player and hard nosed enforcer when someone goes after your dainty super stars.

What’s up with the passive-aggressive, backhanded compliments y’all?

Kd, Harden, and Irving are elite but they don’t fight.
You need a protector for them. James is perfect which is why they signed him.
