I honestly think Melo is going to get waived by December. Vogel won't play him and Melo won't fancy sitting next to Jared Dudley, massaging someone's shoulders.

I don’t mind Monk, but weird with him and Wayne

We are missing 2 way guys

Kcp and AC were 2 way guys

Ariza and Bazemore are 2 way guys, but much worse and older

Danny Green? Oubre?

Who else would we even sign for the Mle

Listen I love me some Caruso, but he is not a two-way player.

He was good enough on offense to justify his great defense

The issue was he was played with so many non shooters

Melo Wayne and Monk are awful at D sadly

Caruso was not a two-way player. I'd take Monk over him on O for sure, but I'd take Caruso on D for sure. That said, Monk definitely has the tools to be a decent defensive player. 6'3" with a 6'7" wingspan.

Both are AWFUL defenders

Monk is a career 34% guy, one good year

Better be for the min

Wtf is our roster rn?

Russ, Baze, Bron, AD, Gasol
Monk? Ellington, THT? Melo? Dwight

Are we **** insane????

Monk and Wayne should be 1 role, not 2

Where is the good wing defender?

Monk did shoot 40% on 7 attempts a game in college, and he shot 82% from the line. Obviously NBA is different but there’s some history of him being a good shooter.

I think people are too worried about defense. Vogel is a really good defensive coach. They were sporting a top 5 defense without LeBron and AD last year. He’ll figure it out. Offense is what is important, so I’m good with going in on offensive guys if we have to get one way players.

Say he shoots very well and is like Bryn Forbes but with a bit more athleticism

Is that guy closing out games vs BKN or the Bucks?

Where our the 2 way guys

With all these shooters, not even sure I would go after Hield anymore, but I would be looking at Barnes or even Ingles

Smart is on the trading block?

It really is strange that there have been zero rumors about Dennis. Is his market that dead? At least his agent could have been leaking stuff to drum up interest, but not even that.

Regular season defensive ranking will take a hit, unless AD turns in a peak defensive season, but it should be fine for the playoffs when the rotation tightens and AD starts playing 40+ minutes. It's really the guard defense that's weak. The forward rotation with LeBron and Ariza is pretty good, and the C is elite with all 3 guys.

I think this is just a matter of time before Dennis fires his agent even if this is maybe not the fault of his agent.

Both Dallas and Boston could use Schröder.. I don't know who else would take him at this point. Raptors?

Thad Young to Spurs for Demar and picks. The league absolutely cannot let Thad Young be in the vicinity of Brooklyn that would nuke the league real quick

How many two way guys are we getting with what we have to offer? I feel like true two way role players are rare. Otherwise they’d be getting paid a lot more with the contracts teams are handing out. We’ll close games with Westbrook/Bron/AD/shooter/shooter, imo.

I think Vogel’s good enough to get the Lakers through the season with a good defense but come the business end of the playoffs it’ll come back to bite them. Too many guys that can be exposed and not enough guys that can defend elite guards/wings.

Their wing defense got better TBH. Ariza and Bazemore. They couldn't guard wings at all before even when they won the title.Look at what Harden, Murray, Jimmy and Booker did against them in the playoffs. Guard defense is def the biggest issue.

Mills to the nets- that sucks

Gay to Utah - good pickup for them

Schroeder and Denny greens are the ones left now basically.

If they can get Danny Green, re-sign THT and add one more shooting big (Morris), I will be satisfied with this off-season:

Westbrook/ Monk/ Ellington
Green/ THT/ Bazmore
James/ Ariza
Davis/ Anthony/ Morris
Gasol/ Howard

McKinnie/ 2-way #1/ 2-way #2

Or…

Westbrook/ Monk/ Ellington
Green/ THT/ Bazmore
James/ Ariza
Morris/ Anthony
Davis/ Howard/ Gasol

This will be a good chemistry team. One in which everyone will know their role.
If healthy, I think they will be better than people suspect.
Don't believe the hype...

Hoping they can get Oubre for the MLE. Not many teams with space left.

Apparently Stevens cannot stand him and a more passive distributor like Schröder is a better fit for them alongside two ball dominant wings.
