Smart is on the trading block?

Apparently Stevens cannot stand him and a more passive distributor like Schröder is a better fit for them alongside two ball dominant wings.

Smart is annoying af so no surprise.

Boston is where point guards go to die. Unfortunately Schroeder is already dead.

Nunn is an awesome back up wtf

I think he’s fine as a backup guard...but look at the roster

Say Russ and Bazemore start

Guard depth is Nunn, Monk, Wayne and THT

None are good overall defenders

THT is good on ball, bad off

We couldn’t have just paid AC 4 more M instead of Nunn?

None of these guys are playing crunch time

Batum, OPJ, Gay, AC are guys u can play in important finals moments

Assuming DG is getting more from Phi

Westbrook-Bazemore-Ariza-LeBron-AD

I don't see the issue with that closing lineup

Bench has a lot of offensive firepower. Would've liked to keep Caruso but what can ya do

Lakers needed a backup PG and got a 26 year old one who just averaged 15 on 49/38/93 for 5 mill and it's being laughed at as a terrible move? I just don't get it.

I feel like all the guys on the roster can play. I don't see an obvious player getting cut from the rotation. And they're all on minimums, other than Nunn and THT, so it's not like you can sort by contract value.

Robs done good tbh. I dunno we’ll have to see how the team clicks but he’s done well with no money and I think it’s fair to blame lebron abs ad for westbrick

Very good signing with Nunn too.
What happens with Schroder is going to be very interesting…

I reckon they close with Nunn rather than Ariza.

Nunn - Westbrook - <hot hand> - LeBron - AD is more likely.

I love this thread, but in all seriousness, some of y’all really need to chill. It’s like a terrible soap opera lol.

The Nunn move is a good one.

More importantly THT + Nunn is a good value for trade fodder in February if there is a glaring need or some opportunity presenting itself. Same with Westbrook being a $40M+ expiring in the summer if he picks up his player option.

So it’s gona be those 5 vs

Kyrie, Harden, Harris, KD, Claxton/Blake?

I don’t see how u finish a big game with 2 guys who should be bench guys

If we use Dennis in a move or AC trade exception, then I’ll just keep on questioning why we didn’t just pay AC

Rob has made some good moves and some bad ones

Gets the huge benefit of being in LA, lakers prestige and having Bron and AD to lure in others

Hoping for a miracle rn, such as DG or even Oubre taking the min (doubtful) or Dennis trade

I don't see THT playing much. Could get some decent value for him at the deadline if necessary. I'm actually excited about him as a potential trade piece lol.

I like the Nunn signing a lot. I just wish there wasn’t a ragtag at shooting guard.

———-

Dennis Schroder has become a cautionary tale.

Young players on expiring contracts in the years to come will be told, whatever you do, don’t pull a Dennis.
Don't believe the hype...

Nunn are THT are good signings. Not just for their talent but also post trade value. Lakers now have pieces for future improvements in
a possible worst case scenario. The late Heat and Cavs had no upside value when they needed it. Both signings will definitely pay off one way or the next. Also pushes the older guys further down the bench.
