Bottom line is….if you are b****** right now…it’s because you don’t think our top 3 of Butler, Bam, and Lowry is good enough. We have a decent 7 man rotation that we gonna need time to fill out. But Butler, Bam, and Lowry will have to be the heavy lifters. I wouldn’t fret so much about who our 9th and 10th men will be.

We got old ass PJ Tucker and Lowry, lost Nunn, Ariza, Bjelica, Dragic etc.
WHY DIDNT WE LAND DEROZAN? WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Lowry is a clear upgrade over Dragic, and Tucker is probably an upgrade over Ariza, and we're not adding any age there. Bjelica doesn't matter. He was never really here anyway. We're not so much moving backwards as we're not making significant progress. It's hard to believe that 2 years ago we were going all in on this offseason.
You got to look at it like this, we've lost both Dragic & Nunns production vs Lowry realistically. & Nunn actually had better advanced numbers than Lowry last year FYI. I do believe Tucker is an upgrade over Ariza not monumental but enough to swing a game here and there.

But Winslow was right, he wasn't good to go. The Heat are to the team to push through injuries and the med team are always gonna err on that side. As a player if you ain't feeling right get a 2nd opinion.
At this point Heat gotta swallow their pride and welcome him back. We don't have a backup wing or a backup point guard and there aren't that many options out there. Winslow can fill both roles
Do we want to never score?

More confusing is why Kendrick would go to LA rather than New York. He could’ve walked into a starters role and significant minutes in NYK. He’s gonna play spot minutes on the Lakers and not be featured at all.
Nunn was not beating out Rose and Quickley. He’ll take over the Caruso vacated role with LA

I doubt hes even healthy. Seems like chronic problems.
Cant shoot or dribble either.
Im sure Memphis was glad hes a free agent and off their books. Pass.
At this point you are in the bargain bin of FA. This is the roster right now : Lowry, Butler, PJ, Duncan, Bam, Dedmon, Herro, Struss, Gabe, KZ, Omer. It's extremely thin. Struss, Gabe, KZ and Omer are not proven rotation players.
We need a backup point guard, 2 more wings who can defend and shoot and a backup 4. So if not Winslow, what are the other names on the minimum that are available ?

Give it more time. Some of us are still secretly lamenting Michael Beasley.

For all saying we would of gotten nothing ng for Nunn… he was a FA less than 2 hours lmao. We could of worked out something in a sign and trade, even if a crap pick (which for us pick 50 in a draft would be a pleasant surprise).
Letting Nunn go for nothing is roster mismanagement.

Ok attempting to salvage the situation. Lets throw the BAE at Kanter see if he will sign for 1 or 2 years. Go attempt to get george hill, and millsap after that. That leaves us with a couple open roster spots to let our top performers that we can bring in from summer league actually land roster spots. We can start building toward bird rights on the young fellas. Our front office has got to do a better job of capitalizing on the talent our development program is putting out. I am sick of seeing us let younger players leave for no compensation. If we aren't bringing them back trade for second round picks and guys we can sit on the end of the bench. I am worried that if the Heat organization starts crashing performance wise in the next couple years that we emptied the cupboard of picks and we will be in a billy king nets style situation.

I think they like Rose off the bench, and it helps keep him fresh and reduce the grind on his body.
Quickley could be a starter, but he’s less proven than Nunn is tbh. Couldve def see them going with
Nunn
Fournier
Barrett
Randle
Noel
But alas, Kendrick chose the bench life. Now he gonna compete with Malik Monk for mins?

The difference is supposed to be that we have Bam (young, all star Olympian under max extension). Now if Bam isn’t going to take that next step, none of our plans, present or future, are going to work.

Well Lowry got replaced in Toronto by Fred VanVleet so you can understand why our top 3 doesn't look quite as good as the Nets. Personally I think Lowry is still better than FVV, but

We aren’t done. There’s no way we feel comfortable competing with that bench as currently constructed.

Right but that is one player... and the constant talk about dangling Herro isn't inspiring any confidence we are going to keep him. Add Danny Green to the list I had mentioned and I feel like we could at least have a competent if not competitive bench. I think Bam is going to be great, but we aren't building on his time line and we are stripping the resources we would need to be able to rebuild around him in 2 or 3 years.
