For 1-2 years, who helps this team more to when a ring as a backup facilitator to Westbrook and James --- DeRozan or Tucker?

I think it's DeRozan. Many will respond that DeRozan is a bad fit, and I don't necessarily disagree, but isn't he a better option than Tucker for similar money on a team in win-now mode?

Ok, so the Hield thing may really be dead, if that’s the case:

RW/Caruso
Eric Gordon/THT/Reddick
Otto Porter/Rudy Gay
Lebron/Melo
AD/Gasol (or Howard)

Acquiring Eric Gordon would have to be facilitated by Schroeder signing somewhere for 16-18, and the Lakers receiving some players back who they could then swap for EG. Or, if Schroeder signed a big enough deal on a team with cap space the Lakers could just get a TPE and use that to grab him.

Also, I know THT is a RFA and thus will have some say on his next destination, but I would at least gauge his interest in being traded to Utah, and gauge the Jazz’s interest in a THT + McKinnie for Ingles swap.

Then you could roll with:

RW/Caruso
EG/Redick/Satoransky
Ingles/Rudy Gay
Lebron/Melo
AD/Gasol (or Howard)
Numbers rule the universe.

I'd off myself if that was the starting lineup we ended up with.

I’m surprised Nicolas Batums name hasn’t been thrown around more. He’d provide some nice versatility defensively and shot a career best 40% from three last year.

Pretty much predict like your line up less Reddick and add someone like Lance Stephenson / Bazemore who is respectable to do all the things with Elligton start or anyone acquired through sign and trade of schroder.

Notable idea : sign Pau to 10 day contract near the end of regular season. Let him play a few mins in 2-3 games and let him retire a lakers

This depends so much on what they get in offers for Schroder and Tucker, but assuming they let Schroder walk for a TPE and resign Tucker:

Westbrook - Tucker
Caruso - McLemore - Matthews - Reddick
Davis - Gasol - Howard
Morris - Anthony
James - Tucker

Basically resign Tucker and Caruso, then sign the best wing shooters you can get for the minimum (McLemore, Reddick, Ellington, Matthews, etc).

Sign Morris and Anthony for PF shooting.

It looks like Howard & Melo want to join the Lakers with interest from Mills, Ellington, Ariza, Bullock, Forbes, Green, JJ & the boys from last season (McLemore, Mathews & Morris)... I will assume Howard starts at C & AD starts at PF but my lineup will show AD playing C as that was the plan once Westbrook signed to get more shooters on the court... I am also assuming the Lakers don't want a $200 million Luxury Tax hence no Buddy Hield signing... Buillock gets the MLE... I thing DeMar takes more than MLE... Lineup:

PG: Westbrook (6'4") & Caruso (6'5")
SG: Bullock (6'5") & THT (6'5")
SF: LBJ (6'8") & Green (6'8")
PF: Morris (6'8") & Melo (6'8")
C: AD (6'11") & Howard (7'0")

I do think the above lineup is REASONABLE & would give us allot of length, decent spacing (2 shooters on court) & enough play making to make 2021/22 a Great Season... Lakeshow Baby...

I don’t understand why you’ve included heights here when 6/10 are wrong?!

Prospects I think might fit the 2021-2022 Lakers:

PG: Patty Mills, George Hill
SG: Danny Green, McLemore
SF: Rudy Gay, Nick Kay (AUS)
PF: Batum (how did we miss out Rob?), Morris
C: Landale (AUS), Thompson (trade), Scrappy C (SER)

Given the report that AD is now okay manning the five and LBJ the four (which is especially great if AD can stay healthy), I’d play Russ off the ball, too, which I’m thrilled to read he’ll accept. If he didn’t, we’d be effed for years. Mills and THT can handle initiating the offense and save our stars’ legs until the playoffs that way.

PG: Mills, Hill
SG: Westbrook, Ellington
SF: THT, Ariza
PF: LBJ, Morris
C: AD, Howard

The low post defense, man. AD plays defense for three when at C. If AD stays healthy, we will shut teams down.

Good luck hunting Rob. Fill the roster out with McKinnie, Cacok, some two way contracts and an international surprise or two.

Westbrook/Nunn/Monk
Ellington/Monk/THT
Bazemore/THT/Bron
Bron/Melo/AD/Ariza
AD/Marc/Dwight

It will be very difficult to give all these guys minutes. I expect Ariza, Melo, Howard, Gasol to pick up several DNP.

Expecting the exact same thing with how much vogel values defense. He will put Bazemore in the starting lineup somehow. He will go with Ellington over Monk, which is fine. Would prefer THT as a starter over Bazemore however.

Any chance of DS Gasol and future 1 for Myles turner. I feel like that would round us out perfectly and leave no weaknesses. Turner and Howard at the 5 is a real good big man rotation. Leaves AD only having to finish the last 6 minutes of the game there if we go death lineup style. I’m not sure buddy Hield is as needed as he was with who we’ve recently added. Gasol is washed. Gives us nothing. Howard still has value but turner playing along side AD makes up for the little bit of perimeter defense we lost with KCP and Kuzma.

Russ/Nunn
Ellington/Monk
LeBron/THT
AD/Melo
Turner/Howard

Bazemore and Ariza in spot minutes

PG: Russ - Nunn - Monk
SG: Bazemore - THT - Ellington
SF: Lebron- Ariza
PF: AD - Melo
C: Gasol - Dwight

Nice to see some actual firepower that will work with Westbrook and Lebron.
