We need scoring punch off the bench. Right now we seem too reliant on Herro for that. A couple of those names Barry Jackson mentioned would fit that role. Keeping Dipo and waiting for him to be healthy is an option too, but really risky.

As far as I know it counts against the cap, but you can go over the cap to sign minimums.

Our biggest problem besides size is the other Eastern teams have more superstars who can actually score more consistently. Giannis is a freak, and Durant and Harden can drop 40 at any moment. Our best players can't shoot or choose not to, and that's one of our major problems. Jimmy has to bang into people for layups and fouls, and Bam passes on open jumpers and can be passive. If neither player plays up to their contracts, it will just be a repeat of last year. So with all these upgrades, it's still extremely important we get All-Star level play from our best players. Lowry will definitely help, but Bam and Jimmy have to be a lot better than they were in the first round last year.

82 games is a long season I'm sure we can spare a minimum contract on someone under 34 to play the wing off the bench

I think our team is one of the best, if not the best, defensive team in the NBA.

Defensively we are cream of the crop.

I think it's pretty obvious that we're going to be better, offensively, as well. Lowry is a huge upgrade for us both in terms of scoring and creating. If Spo can maximize the talent (and by that, I'm talking about the ball-handling skills of Bam, Butler, and the Booty) we could be extremely difficult to defend.

Now just re-sign Dipo and LETS GOOOO

This is kinda how I see it too. As much as I despise the guy, he can fill a role. I’d have preferred Millsap but it’s whatever.

Could see Keef in that spot starter/Meyers role with Tucker off the bench.

Is Spo on the hot seat if we don’t get past the second round?
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Nope. As long as Riley is here, Spo won't ever be on any hot seat.

But we better not get swept again.

I more so remember the guy that shot 40% from 3 hitting a fair amount of crucial shots against us in our finals series and also dropped 19pts on us in one of those games.

If we fail to make the playoffs and next year start with a bad record, they'll start paying attention.

Lowry
Duncan
Jimmy
PJ
Bam

Is an epic lineup. Lowry does a lot more than the stat sheet says. His screening and off ball movement is D Rob esque.

Jimmy and Bam are still going to need to take about 3/4 3s a game between them. It’s just part of how we need to evolve like our rivals did last year.

It’s easy for people to freak out that we have some old dudes but Bam and Herro are babies. KZ and Strus may develop. Duncan is prime age. It’s called balance. Yurtseven is intriguing.

Once Dedmon came along last year to support Bam we got pretty damn good.

The offence always fell apart without Jimmy which is why we got Lowry.

People forget we gave away depth last year for a guy that didn’t play.

We should be damn good. And like any team, just need some luck.

This years champion looked way off it and quite old. They adjusted, and luck went their way and they won. There’s no reason we can’t do the same

Hoping he can have a Renaissance year. I think he’s a better player than he showed with the Lakers last season.

As far as the back court goes I wouldn't mind bringing in someone like Elfrid Payton. His shooting is pretty sub par but I like the other aspects of his game and thought he did pretty well defensively for New York last season. Feel like we need more defense alongside Herro off the bench in the back court.

Lou Williams is a name out there but wonder if his play style would clash with the role Herro wants off the bench.

It is hard to see Spoelstra's job being in jeopardy any time soon.

I am worried about Spoelstra's ability to come up with a less embarrassing offensive scheme. It really does feel as if Miami has decided to create a 90s basketball team that is going to try to hold opponents under 90 when Miami's biggest issue last year was its inability to score the basketball.

Despite all the fawning over Miami's offseason, I am more inclined to believe that Miami has moved laterally as opposed to forward. We'll see what the team looks like after Miami is done acquiring players.

On paper, it’s a more stout group for sure. But the max players must come to play. That’s what it comes down to. We need Bam to come out the gates likes 04 Garnett.
