While both sides have their own obstacles, Lakers are going through the strong west where we go thru 2 research of playoffs bball(1st rd being a warmup per expectations)

forget the Bucks, the Heat are easily the second best team in our conference ..

I'm not sure I agree. Giannis clearly went up a level by the end of the playoffs and Middleton and Jrue showed they can step up and be #2/3 guys. They'll be tough out in any 7 game series. Obviously Miami made good of improvements to the roster but I'd at least put them on the same level as the Bucks.

1. LA
2. They will get lots of mins given they will be the young guys on the roster
3. If they perform well and the Lakers meet expectations, the notoriety of the Lakers will guarantee them a big contract next season
4. LA

Both Nunn and Monk aren't good players individually but landing on a title contender for bargain deals at their ages, it's sketchy.

Yeah I have to say that something is odd about this. Monk and Nunn are worth way more that minimum contracts.

Didnt even realize Monk was available. Crazy he went for the minimum, he for sure left money on the table. You can say Lebron isnt the GOAT player but he is 100% the GOAT HM/attracting others to come join him. the power he and his agents have is enormous.

Monk is the type of athlete id love to round out this roster. i have pipe dreams of Nance, Jr. in a S & T but thats unlikely. what monk-like player/athlete is out there for the taking still?

Bulls have really been awful the past couple years.

-Drastically overpaid for Vucevic, who then proved what we knew (empty stats/D liability)
-Alienated Markanen after botching his development and he is now gone for nothing
-Wasted cap on thad young, overpaid him
-Sold low on Carter Jr, got diminishing returns including him with picks
-busted on 5 straight first rounders
-Trade even more future firsts for derozan, on an overpay, on a lotto team
-almost for sure threw away any shot of retaining lavine by adding a fraud like vuc and blowing picks

terrible.

The west is no longer the powerhouse it was. Denver and utah are paper tigers. Kawhi will never win as long as PG is on the team, and Luka still has no help. It is really GSW and the best punch from a pretender.

Miami will be better then any non-lakers west team. They loaded up with elite 2-way fits. Bucks are still the bucks. Atlanta is coming on strong. philly is trash but no worse then denver or portland.

Im not worrying about LA, if we meet them, its in the finals, which means we are probably healthy and healthy we can beat anyone

Excellent news. Sucks for Bruce though that he didn't get any offers.

I think the fact that he was used in a very untraditional way caused teams to think he's just a gadget/gimmick player that wouldn't fit in their system.

I think he isnt a center and he doesnt shoot threes. thats going to put him behind every 3 + D player and every taller natural center.

What are we looking at here in terms of vet min pick ups? There's got to be a big and a shooter left for us to grab.

While I don't necessarily disagree that the 1st R of matchup will be a warmup, I think it's probably the best the bottom half of the playoff range teams will be.

The Pacers, Bulls, Hornets, Bulls should all be better assuming health. Then there's the Knix, Celtics and Hawks. Much better depth in the EC this season.

Bulls will be worse. a full year of vucevic and they lost spacing and defense between markanen, aminu, and thad.

Celtics got alot worse. No more stevens coaching (he was elite), Kemba/fournier gone (thats a ton of points on a struggling offensive team) brought in non shooters in dunn/richardson. Still have 2 guys who both are high volume but dont pass and rumors are smart may be gone. They could miss the playoffs. if we see them again, same result.

Knicks... lol.

hawks will be a top 4 seed.

Hornets scare no one. especially after losing graham/monk.

Get the 1 seed, beat miami, win a title.

It's crazy how Brad is literally going to punt another year of Tatum and Brown. They are going to leave that team, it isn't a matter of if but when

The bucks run proved to me without a shadow of a doubt they are not in our class. Giannis proved he is a playoff liability. a couple great games vs a blah suns team that was shook and hurt dont mean much. every series before star injuries happened he was a non factor or even liability. IF nash wasnt our coach he would have been out in round 2. if we were healthy, they would have ebeen done in 5 games.

I think we bring back some more of our own between TJ and TLC. Still radio silence on Reddick. We may add a player via trade. I think we probably dont see another signing anytime soon, or pre-dinwiddie trade.

I'd rather move on from both of them if they are better options at wing and C to be had for the minimum. We need guys that actually can be reliable, Miami and LA are not playing around.

You dont get anyone reliable with the minimum on day 3. Anyone we get from here is either inconsistent with play or health. Tyler Johnson is probably better then any realisitic option out there. if we add another consistent guy. it would need to be in the dinwiddie trade. Forbes is the only guy i can think of that fits a "consistent and clear better then TJ" description and he is likely no longer an option with the MLE gone.

I think we are done at center unless DJ is moved in the dinwiddie trade. we have Blake/Claxton/JJ (smallball)/DJ/Sharpe. that kind of covers all the bases. cant really carry another big without one going out.

Reddick would be a nice add, but even he has struggled to stay on the floor of late.
