You cant combine players in a sign and trade. More realistic approach would be trading Wiseman, Kuminga, Wiggins, Moody for Siakam, Boucher and a 2nd rounder. Then you guys re-sign Oubre.
Curry/
Klay/ Lee
Oubre/ Porter / Toscano Anderson
Siakam/ Bjelica/ Paschall
Green/ Looney
No interest in this, at all. Mostly because it has us resigning Poobre.
And more importantly, we are now projected to pay almost $200 million tax penalty this year. We need to keep our young guys on rookie deals. We are locked up and can basically only sign vet min guys looking to redeem themselves. We aren't a premier free agent destination outside of getting lucky with KD.
Lee, Porter, JTA, Bjelica, and Looney could all be gone and then we are left chasing vet mins again next year trying to build a team around Curry/Klay/Oubre/Siakam/Green/2022 rookies/vet min guys. Not exactly a great position to be in and really a great way to become a treadmill team with no future and 3 mains guys slowly burning out.
I'd much prefer to stay put, especially if Siakam costs THIS much. Bob hangs up quick.
And on top of that that I personally don't think Siakam is a good fit in GSW no matter how much you guys want to convince us otherwise.
I guess the counter argument is, since the main guys are slowly aging, how much longer can GS afford to wait through the tail of Curry's prime? I do understand the desire to have transitional pieces to a new era. Maybe Siakam isn't the main piece management is chasing, but I think they're definitely looking for SOME help esp with Draymond's fairly significant decline. GS lacks some size to go up against the Lakers/Clippers up front, so I'm not sure a Lillard or Beal necessarily puts them over the top. Are there other large wings that are on the block?
Sure, all teams are looking for SOME help, but only if it's the right deal. Given our circumstances, that deal doesn't exist right now. Due to the actions and words of management/ownership (hiring new player development staff, saying how important rookie deal are with our cap situation, importance of depth, etc) I find it extremely unlikely we make a huge trade any time soon. If that does happen, it'd be next offseason at the earliest. But I even doubt that. It's just a reckless and not well calculated move given our situation imo.
Curry/Klay/Wiggins/Green/Looney
Poole/Moody/OPJ/Bjelica/Wiseman
Lee/Kuminga/JTA
On paper, although plenty of "what ifs", should be a top 6 team in the West. I mean, we were 9th and going from Bazemore/Smiley/Mulder/GP2 to Klay*/OPJ/Bjelica/Moody/Kuminga. Possibly add another player or 2 in FA or we might be done. Plus hopefully a healthy Wiseman can improve and Poole expected to keep his 2nd half production going from last year.
