Obviously, this is common sense....but the Raptors need to squeeze out as many assets as they can in this Lowry deal. The reason I say this is because we barely have any trade assets outside of our core 3 in FVV/Siakam/OG.

Gary Trent just signed, so he can't be included in anything. We just waived Bembry, Watson and Hood. Baynes is going to get waived tomorrow barring a miracle trade.

Chris Boucher and picks are literally our only main trade assets (assuming our goal is to add to the FVV/Siakam/OG/Barnes/Gary core).

The more picks and players we get back the better. So at least the raps have more to include in any potential trade scenarios. Even as salary fillers.

We really only have the MLE and whatever we get from thr Lowry deal to build around this core.

Said this before but if we're going to build with/around Siakam, we need to trade Fred. If we’re tanking, you need to trade Fred AND Siakam.

Either way you slice it, you need to trade Fred.

I don’t see how they can raise their values with limited minutes and limited touches. There’s no way they’re going to stand out and put up big numbers on that crowded roster. Poor career choice in my opinion. It’s better to take more money and get a bigger role on another team.

It's not uncommon for players to sign shorter or cheaper deals in the hope that a bigger payday will come in the future. I think you're understating how big his role will be as well, they were willing to use their MLE which is one of the only ways they had of signing a player to a sizeable contract. He actually might even start for them given how few quality players they have under contract.

No one getting emotional. But if you paid attention, you'd realize FVV is the now the team leader, about to enter his prime, and will be leaned on more than ever with masai's youth movement. And again, we arent losing our top 2 leaders in a matter of days, that's just foolish.
