A Premature Tommy SHEPPARD Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Chocolate City Jordanaire » Tue Aug 3, 2021 2:19 pm

The man is killing it in his trade and player acquisitions. He really knows how to clean up a mess!

Practically as good as this guy does.

You mean Tommy "The Fixer" Sheppard?

Cmon, it's a known fact that the HOF was created based on the prophesy that Tommy Sheppard would rise to greatness.

Not quite CCJ. It’s easier to tear down than to rebuild.

The Westy trade was a good start… but let’s see what he does with the flexibility/assets

I'm impressed so far, but there will be no shrine until the Wiz win 50 games.

Honestly if we get the healthy 20ppg dinwidie he's just slightly under paid or fairly paid plus, but if he's hurt we made a huge over pay. It's the definition of a high risk high reward.

CCJ -- probably should edit the title of the thread: change the "he" in his last name to "pa" -- I just looked it up: he spells it "Sheppard."

Who knows? Maybe he drops in here every once in a while -- might be happy to see the spelling change! :)

Maybe an "appreciation" thread instead?

Dennis Green would tell me go ahead and crown Tommy.

I think I will "know" after the first 5-10 games. Then, I will reassess right before the All Star break.

Cohesiveness and tactical strategy concern me. He's going to have tread over bruised feelings.

Will Wes be the coach or Brad be Prima Donna? Worse, will there be a heap of in-fighting if the team starts out poorly?

Wes jr wouldn't have been my coach. I have A LOT more questions about him than I do the (current) roster and what Tommy has done. TOMMY's grade depends on his hire, Wes Jr.

RIGHT NOW? Either Exec of the Year or COTY won't surprise me. The roster is BANGING!

lsbf, the Wall/Westy trade was very reminiscent of the Juwan Howard contract moved trade. Also, washed Gil for serviceable Rashard Lewis.

To trade old for young and dice up the contracts to manageable, small parts, EACH capable of upside? For a player CLEARLY on the decline? Theft.

We do have to wait and see, but we are off to a TREMENDOUS, POSITIVE start.

Really, it's how does he handle the mess Ted Leonsis seems determined to make?

In getting out of Wall’s max contract, and turning that into multiple usable players, Tommy has done a pretty good job. Today, he earned his keep.
