But I'm getting big "they're saying us and Golden State are the superteams" energy from stuff like that SportsCenter tweet.

F the Superteams.

Honestly and this is no exaggeration, I'd MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have our existing squad than those douchenozzles in Brooklyn. IDC how many 'chips they may or may not get.

Kemba, D-Rose, Taj and Thibs? RJ, IQ and Mitch? Cornrow Randle? Fournier & Burks? Very rootable team. Hell, I even really like Grimes & McBride riding the pine. Hope they keep it together a couple seasons.

This has nothing to do with what I said though, but good for you.

I heard you. I just don't think ESPN saying the Knicks roster "could be scary" is the same as D-Rose's fugaze superteam comment. And I reiterate -- F THE SUPERTEAMS.

Kudos to Leon and Wes for building an anti-superteam. Kemba is a great addition just for the goodwill he brings as a hometown hero on an underdog contract who fits with the Thibs program.

Guess we’ll see three guard lineups and Burks will have to play some 3?

When randle dont have it, we got Fournier, Rj, Kemba, Rose, Burks and IQ etc to step up. Shaping up nicely. cant guard us the same. Now to play as a team.

Yeah, we don't really have a backup SF.

Closing games is probably Rose - Fournier - Burks - Randle - Noel and you'll not like it.

We have a lot of guys with history of injuries / need for load management. There will be plenty of minutes in the regular season.

Kemba isn't all that but he's a very nice addition.

He could have a mini-resurgence in NY after two strange years in Boston. The team is a better fit for his skill set as well, with pick-and-roll partners like Randle and Mitch.

His 36% from 3 will be a welcome addition. Not much of a defender, but Payton wasn't either (despite his switchability).

The Knicks moves were unimpressive but decent overall, although I'd have prioritized resigning Bullock over Burks or Noel. They're all reasonable signings - especially with the news that Burks, Noel and Rose could be expiring contracts in a year. I'd have hated an offseason like the Bulls or San Antonio.

I doubt that. Fournier and Burks can both play SF and either RJ or Fournier is now a SF.

Yeah it's definitely pretty cringe but it's all to inspire lolknicks takes. I got a push notification from ESPN from Max Kellerman that this move doesn't makes us title contenders and it's like no shizzz but it at least could make us better.

IQ gets to learn from both now. Keep in mind Thibs NEVER likes using IQ as the PG.

Plenty of load management opportunities for IQ, Grimes, McBride, and Vildoza. If I'm skeptical of anyone in that rotation it's Alec "Microwave" Burks. Not convinced we weren't seeing a contract year performance last season; nor do I think Thibs will give him the ultimate green light again now that we have a scoring PG on the court at all times. Also pretty sure Thibs won't keep playing RJ 40mpg any more.

Mitch (Noel)
Randle (Obi for 10 minutes)
RJ (Burks for 12 minutes)
Fournier (IQ)
Kemba (Rose or vice versa)

I disagree. There will be minutes for Grimes regardless. I think he'll play and contribute right away.

Offseason went from bad (when it was 3 years guaranteed for backups and just Fournier) to disappointing (learning it's 2+1 for the backups, not 3 guaranteed) to okay with getting Kemba

I am thoroughly whelmed with the offseason.

2’s and 3’s interchange all the time. Backup SF is not a pressing need.

I like this move a lot. Considering the fact that in today's league teams that have All-star or Superstar PGs rarely give them up if they are not forced to, Kemba is the type of player with his recent bad injury luck and meh stay in Boston so that he is attainable.

Keep in mind we are not talking a player that is injury prone per se.....throughout his career he was rarely injured. Just before last season he missed 15 out of 70 games roughly and last season he was riddled by injuries, but nothing career changing severe. He will be the best PG we have had since I can remember (and that is 1994). Despite a weak last season he was able to put up 20/5 on solid percentages. Between him and Rose we have great PG play now---add Quickley's and Fournier's shooting along with more improvement by Barrett and I can see this team fighting it out for the 5th/6th spot in the east.

PG is the most important position in basketball and we have now 2 great veterans that , while not exactly spring chickens anymore, at the age of 31 and 32 are have definitely a lot of basketball left if they can stay healthy. The combination of Walker, Rose and Quickley will be difficult to handle for any team. Add to that that the new found depth and hopefully improvement by Quickley will give enough opportunity to also rest Rose or Walker without losing much in PG play for shorter spells.
