So.. with Oladipo and his Bird rights.
Let Oladipo rehab all the time letting Herro have more minutes to build up his value, once Oladipo is ready Miami can move Herro + contract filler for hopefully a very good starting big near the deadline.
Herro + Tucker can bring back someone 14.3 mil or less.

Happy about oladipo, still need a veteran guard and back up 3,
I say sign Avery Bradley or Reggie Jackson
Sign Danny green
Bring in yurtseven and a couple of 2 ways
Pray oladipo comes back healthy and motivated

Expect him to come back halfway through the season on the bench, resign and a starter next year.
That's big. BIG.
Like it or not - our playoffs hopes lay on Dipo's health IMO.

Good news. Low risk, very high reward.
If healthy, he'll be exactly what I think this team will need. More scoring off the bench.
Plus, a lineup of Lowry/Dipo/Jimmy/PJ/Bam is kind of insane defensively.

Basically keep Herro till you feel comfortable with Oladipo, Miami could wait a whole year if need be before moving Herro, all the while building up Herro's worth with him able to concentrate on scoring.
This is why Miami operated as an above the cap team, it cost them Precious + small asset to keep Oladipo's Bird rights like I mentioned earlier today.

Dipo coming back healthy and productive would be the difference on a 2nd round playoff out or an Eastern Conference representation

Dipo back? Good. So far this has been a very good offseason.

If Dipo comes back anywhere close to 100 percent this season as a super 6th man this team is going to be a headache for teams in the playoffs.

Well he is a pure floor general - unlike Dragic. That type of PG do tend to make other players score more.
But overall, unless Herro makes a HUGE jump, I feel like this offense is bottom 10 in the NBA. maybe bottom 5.
Big part of this is I'm losing faith in Bam's offense significantly improving. He looks awful on team USA, not agressive, not sharp, no moves, no confidence.
Sadly I still think taking a non scorer and making him a legit first/second or even third offensive option is not doable.
People here actually think he should be taking 3s… the guy needs to work on his offense in the paint and midrange… until thats good nothing else should be added. Hes average at best offensively… hes looking like a smaller version of Dwight Howard…
well he probably is a bit smaller then Dwight, but that's not a good comp IMO.
He's a much better passer, and better from mid range and FT.
Problem is He's very passive - not good enough from outside to shot with confidence and not big enough to dominate inside. limited post skills too.
Having trouble finding a good historic comparison for him now.

I don't think hell ever be 100% this upcoming season, hes going to be really rusty it might take an entire full season of games to get back to 100%, and he won't be joining us until after February I would say. we can hope 80%-90% that would be enough.

Re: MIAMI HEAT Offseason Thread 2021 Vol.4 - Beasley Time
The Dipo signing makes sense, explains why we let Nunn move on as well. Miami stays under the tax this season and if we want Dipo back, we can sign him to a contract going above the tax.
I still think Miami needs another bench ballhandler while Dipo is out. Winslow might not be a bad option if he accepts the minimum. Other options? Lou Will and Avery Bradley are still options as well.

Great to have Dipo back. Really hope he comes back strong and healthy. I hope he comes back in December or January so he can get his game going. Let's get a PG and a SF to back up Lowry and Duncan

I’ll have what you guys are smoking on Oladipo.
The guy avg 12 points on 30% shooting for us before he got hurt
even his best year in Indy he only shot 40% from the field. Guys a bum and he will regret not signing for bigger money when he was offered it. Was a scrub for the Rockets as well. You guys are more infatuated with the idea of who he can be rather than the reality of who he is.

Would love Lou Will off the bench. Maybe not a regular rotation player, but would be nice to have a guy like him off the bench in games when the offense is bogged down.

I'm very down on Bam's offensive development, Tucker might be the worst offensive player in the league probably, Duncan is very limited.
Scoring a bucket might look like pulling teeth out.
Lowry is a significant upgrade over Nunn and Dragic offensively. The only need now is for another person who can drive to basket to break down a defense, whether that's Oladipo come December or someone else. I don't think the team will be as bad on offense as you're making them out to be.
Lowry isn't an upgrade over Dragic AND Nunn - that's crazy talk. We lost Nunn who had a real role as a scorer and we replaced him with no one. Lowry might be a bit better then Dragic alone. Also PJ Tucker is a lot worse offensively then Ariza - I can't understand how someone can think we'll be a good offense.
We weren't a good offense last year and we took a sure step back.
Yeah, let me clarify. Lowry is an upgrade over Dragic. Lowry is also an upgrade over Nunn. You're right that combined they would be an upgrade over Lowry individually, of course.
However, you're overrating Ariza.
I'm not saying the team isn't taking a step back, just that
I don't think the team will be as bad on offense as you're making them out to be.

Before removing his contract they talked to Yurtseven and told them they are keeping him, just needed to remove his deal and resign his contract later for cap purposes. That is why he remain with the summer league team. They will honor his contract.
