when I think of long term it's at least 3 years.....I don't think anyone would call 2 years long term

YES!
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

Khem is a solid piece to hold onto - he was a breathe of fresh air after baynes.

I guess Masai and Bobby aren't actually "Asleep at the wheel" now, right?

imagine getting through a whole bunch of 6'9" bodies; only to face our last line of defence:

Let's wait for a Woj or Shams bomb before we get too excited about Khem Birch being back lol.

Compared to last year, this is a much better option.

Once the values for Allen and Holmes were set as high as they were, this is really what I was hoping for. He's a perfect fit for what the Raps need out of the 5, on both ends.
Very happy to NOT have to watch a Kanter/Len/Howard type who is easy to run off the floor because they're so limited.

Re: [Yannopolous] Khem Birch Agreeing To Long Term Deal With Toronto
I like the idea of a 3-4 year deal, especially if its $5MM ish or under. Plus he's Canadian.
I liked what I saw from Birch (albeit, it was after 2/3rd of a season of looking at Baynes...), but if the raps goal is to be really competitive in 2-3 years, then having a guy like Birch at a low cap figure will be advantageous. If he doesn't work out, then it wont be the end of the world to move him.

Re: [Yannopolous] Khem Birch Agreeing To Long Term Deal With Toronto
I'm glad our FO aren't trying to mess this up and giving Birch the contract he deserves. Otherwise, it'd be something to question.
+Re-sign GTJ as our starting 2, check
+Re-sign Birch as our starting 5, check
Those were the 2 main moves on my checklist of what needs to be done for us to get back to the playoffs this coming year. I think we'll be fine next season. Hopefully we don't trade Siakam, and all will be good again.
