Jarrett Culver won't be playing? What a joke. We won't play him in summer league, and we won't play him in the G League... This is a case study in how to depreciate a lottery pick's value as quickly as possible.

He just had surgery a couple months ago. Likely still recovering.

He'll be gone a year from now as long as Rosas doesn't pick up his option.

Well that would explain why he isn't doing summer league this time. I still wonder why has he never played in summer league or G league before? He's had a bunch of DNP-CDs and could have benefited from G League.

I had hoped Culver would be ready for Summer league, but I guess not. If there was ever a player in need of a confidence boost it is Culver, and Summer league would have been a chance to get back on track. His best chance at getting his option picked up would have been to shine this summer and then have a good training camp.

He didn't play in 2019 summer league because he couldn't because of the odd timing of the new league year and summer league coinciding. He didn't play in 2020 summer league because there wasn't one.

I don't believe he's had many DNP-CDs. Most if not all have been due to the ankle injury.

I forgot about that stupid technicality for the 2019 summer league.

He definitely had some DNP-CDs last year. I took a quick look and counted a few but I haven't gone through all the box scores.

Don't you think he would have benefitted from time in the G league?

Culver's rookie year he was the recent #6 pick on a bad team, so he was going to get minutes in the NBA. Last season, Culver was hurt before the G-League started and by the time he was able to play again the G-League season was almost done (it was only a 15 game season and I'm not sure Culver's ankle ever really recovered). I really do wish Culver could have played in the G-League last year since I think he desperately needed to build some confidence and log some extended minutes.

Bummed out that Jarrett Culver isn't there.

He was the standout tonight. If and a big if he looks good in summer league would add him to the 15 man rotation, could be our 3rd string or possibly back up big this team needs.

Even if everything pans out great still need a starting caliber PF/C.
