I would not describe a 2nd and swap as "only"...the swap could be very penalizing if we end up in the lottery and Brooklyn has a 25-30th pick..

Not ideal but about right for facilitating the trade. Crazy to think they'd get a first-round pick AND Avdija.

Hopefully, that pick is not 2022. But sure, their first is going to be a lot worse than our first-round pick next season.

Re: Wizards set to acquire Spencer Dinwiddie
I heard Detroit was going to be involved, but Detroiters were not going to like it.... Not liking the sound of that. As a detroiter, the only name that makes sense would be Deni.... and all we have is Josh Jackson, Sekou Doumboya, Taking off the lottery protection of the first round pick we owe you via our trade with Houston. But I would like that deal. So it probably won't be that. No clue as of now. Anyone else hear Detroit in the mix?

So that would be two seconds. One to SA to take Hutchison, who makes 4 million, 2.4 guaranteed, and another 2nd round pick to NJ plus a pick swap, whatever that ends up being.

A 2025 pick swap could end up burning us. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

I'm assuming it's a 2nd round pick swap, not a first round. That would be nuts.

Re: Wizards set to acquire Spencer Dinwiddie
So, to recap evidently:
Wizards trade Westbrook, Indiana's first, two second round picks, Hutchison for apparently:
Wizards receive Indiana's second, A. Holiday, KCP, Kuzma, Harrell, and being able to sign Spencer Dinwiddie for 3 years 62 million. Unless we find out that one of the Lakers was moved in another side deal.

And that 2024 pick from the Wizards is actually a Memphis pick. I expect Memphis to be a playoff team by then, so it'll probably be the 48th pick or so.
And that 2025 pick swap won't be very painful. Assuming we keep Beal, we should be a playoff team with our roster, and Golden State should be declining as Draymond and Klay age out.

That's not bad. We keep all of our tradable forwards to flip or combine for future improvements. I still want a scoring guard for our bench.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

Re: Wizards set to acquire Spencer Dinwiddie
I wonder what pick we are sending to Indy. Our 2022 pick is pretty valuable as it's from Detroit. Our 2023 pick is from Chicago, so probably in the low 40's.

Can you imagine if Ernie was trying to orchestrate this deal? He would've gotten tired from thinking too hard and sent off Deni and a 1st to get back DeAndre Jordan.

Re: Wizards set to acquire Spencer Dinwiddie
Do the Wizards have cap space to use some of the MLE or biannual exception and still be under the luxury tax line? Or space to re-sign Neto or Matthews?
