Washington now better than the Raptors. Nets, Bucks, Heat, Sixers, Hawks, Knicks, Bulls, Celtics, Wizards, Raptors, Hornets... Play In is the ultimate high.

I think those plans for free agency and cap space went out the window the second Giannis resigned
I think people need to come to terms with the reality that we're probably closer to a 1-2 year 'soft rebuild' (something short of complete blow up/tank) than a 'kawhi trade' away situation where rounding out the roster with Jarrett Allen types makes sense

Getting a picks package from the Wiz would be much more valuable. I think they make a Chicago like Vuc trade to get Beal to sign his extension in October.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

Damn that Westbrook trade gave the wizards 5 decent players. They should be better this season if Beal stays.

You should always have a plan B. Pretty short sighted and wreckless to not have a backup plan.

I thought the pick part at the bottom made it clear it was a joke but I guess not….

Re: 2021 Free Agency News & Discussion Part 2
The more and more I look at it seems like Raptors might really be in tank mode next year. But then again our team has always been about development and internal growth since the DeMar Lowry days. Let's see what Fred, Pascal and OG add to their games this year.
DeMar and Lowry were always counted out by everyone to start the season. People always predicted us to be bottom of the east with them and we always out performed. Let's see if these guys can do the same.

Plan B is stealth tank, go into the season with a worse roster than last years and aim for another top 10 pick. Keep developing young cheap players into starters, reload the roster through development, and either hit on a superstar in the lotto or at least get us closer to that 'superstar trade away' tier
I think management is more realistic about the ceiling of this team than fans have been. Clearly they aren't making win now moves, and I don't think they see a path to contention without taking a step back to take a step forward. If that's the case, I much rather have another losing development season then chasing a 4th or 5th seed

I feel all signs point to tank as well, though I think if Masai learned anything from the aborted Lowry Knicks deal its that sometimes you gotta evaluate. I think they give them 20-30 games to see if they surprise and outperform expectations, but if not then Pascal and/or Fred get traded and they move on from this core and go full on rebuild

Been saying this since Lowry got traded to the Heat we're going to build through youth now. Our window to compete closed.

To me it looked like they stumbled into a tank rather than it being a pre meditated act. I hope I'm wrong.

No chance they are tanking.
