Good move. Just hope we also bring back Frank Jackson. He’s got 18-20 ppg scorer potential

Nice, he earned it. He'll have plenty of room to operate with Olynyk and Jackson to feed in the second unit. Hope he gets more minutes than Joseph.

Yeah - I think he's the rare second round pick that will have a good run in the NBA. I can see Cade really enjoying playing off of him - though in truth I have no idea how that will work out.

I agree. He(Jackson) is a potential scoring machine off the bench.JLiv wrote:Good move. Just hope we also bring back Frank Jackson. He’s got 18-20 ppg scorer potential
Perfect fit for our young duo of guards. Saben is a functional backup, and Hayes and him started to click towards the end of the year.

Re: Saben Lee: Re-signed to 3-year Deal
Curious to see what the dollar figures are...
Cade/Cojo/Lee
Killian/J Jackson/McGruder
McGruder will likely end up getting waived, and Josh could still be moved as well, still not much room for F Jackson / Diallo. I won't be upset if both move on, but if they are only bringing back one of them I'd much prefer it be Jackson.

Re: Saben Lee: Re-signed to 3-year Deal
I wonder if third year is a TO with Pistons making sure to get his FBR's.
I wouldn't hate Diallo getting S&T interest and snagging a couple future SRP's for him. Though keeping him at 6-7M AAV would be great as well as a future trade chip.
Get Lee to Summer League squad now!

Re: Saben Lee: Re-signed to 3-year Deal
Really liked what I saw from Lee. And objectively, I thought he brought way more to the table than Hayes did which was a surprise. He just pushes and gets timely buckets like a good back up PG
If he can sharpen up that shooting stroke, I think he can legitimately be a good back up for us full time

That would be awesome if Detroit could get that for Diallo in a S&T. I just don't see it happening.
I just don't think there is that kind of market for Diallo. Detroit got him for Svi + a 2nd. I don't see how he improved his value while in Detroit to the point of adding on an Extra pick + giving him a multi year raise.

Re: Saben Lee: Re-signed to 3-year Deal
I'm glad we're keeping Lee. There will definitely be a minutes crunch at point guard, but he's shown what he has to be successful in this league.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Re: Saben Lee: Re-signed to 3-year Deal
Hope he gets minutes over Joseph (who I can’t for the life of me understand why he got a 2 year deal at that price).

Most honest answer, get in good with an agency…keep one of Casey’s guys.

MCC's starting point guard most of this season, barring main roster injuries.

Re: Saben Lee: Re-signed to 3-year Deal
nice, figured there had to be a team option on the last year. that third year could be very valuable depending on how lee develops. it's likely for the minimum or barely over.

Re: Saben Lee: Re-signed to 3-year Deal
A no brainer move to sign Lee. I think we'll see some 2 PG rotations with him and Joseph on the floor at the same time so I don't think his playing time will be that reduced.
I'm sure Diallo will be next.

I think pistons will have to decide if they wanna move JJ and have room to resign Diallo or move on from him but I'd definitely would like if Frank is resigned with us.

Re: Saben Lee: Re-signed to 3-year Deal
I can't imagine many suitors lining up for JJ. We definitely don't need Diallo and JJ on this team at this point assuming horrific injuries don't strike the Pistons.
You do wonder if Lee got any phone calls besides Detroit given his youth and restricted status.
