SPURS SIGN BRYN FORBES

Sharp-shooting NBA champion Bryn Forbes is back in what I'M 100% SURE will be an appropriate role fitting his skill - shooting from beyond the arc. And that's it.

I do wonder who this pushes out? KBD? Surely not Drew, right? He's still at least a third big which we need after Jakob and Jock and who knows what Zach's injury status is.

But yeah, welcome home, Sparty! :D

p.s. Spurs culture for the win!

A little awkward as Primo now has #11. Already took official pictures in it and everything. I'm sure they can work something out.

This is going to be a bad signing.. Forbes is the kind of player this team doesn't need, and were good to get away from. Undersized guards that can't really defend or make plays for others, or handle the ball reliably.

The other signings I'm fine with, and won't really hurt the team.. this one will, unless he's in a future trade at the deadline for some draft stuff or a younger player.

Forbes doesn't replace Murray, White or Walker if one or two of them are heading out.. he is a notable downgrade from any of them because of being undersized at SG and not really a solid playmaker.. and will get killed on defense most nights. He can't be hidden defensively.

Not a good reversion and a waste of money.. should of used it on a bigger wing (over 6'5" and length) with size, and a bit of NBA experience.

This team needs to be on the way to rebuilding its defensive identity and attack that it once had from 2012-2018 -- by getting more size on the perimeter and in the key-area with a group of longer and fairly agile wings, and moves like this don't help that at all, unless he'll be moved later in the year. The bigs I'm not that worried about and is easier to rebuild, and is already progressing decently with Poetll and a healthy Collins, developing L. Samanic, etc.

The perimeter is still kind of flawed and undersized defensively to be consistently effective.

Amazing shooter, don't get me wrong. But he has shown he rarely belongs on an NBA court.

I wrongly predicted he'd play a role for the Bucks in the finals but even with Giannis getting doubled and tripled, Bryn couldn't find minutes over washed Jeff Teague.

It shows you how hard work can be the difference between players. He is a better shooter than Mills but never worked on the other aspects that Patty has.

We are tanking. So I fully expect Murray and/or White gone soon.

Fire the FO in it's entirety! This is simply unacceptable. We got rid of this terribly bad player and now we sign him back into a roster spot that we dont' have! (So we have to make someone else go away, probably at negative value because teams know we are over a barrel.)

Fun, Let's outshoot everyone with McDermott and Forbes! It would be entertaining if the Spurs figured this out as a winning lineup, even for limited minutes. Forbes does feel like a guy that would fit in well with Spurs culture right away.

He’s a good shooter. But um. Golly.

It would make sense as an element of a trade that’s in the works. In isolation it is just peculiar.

Good deal. PATFO deserve credit for the solid contracts and terms we signed players to this off-season:
