Don't see that so much the last couple of years. GMs are starting to see the value there. That's how it looks anyway....

I'm assuming it's a 2nd round pick swap, not a first round. That would be nuts.

No first rounders burned. I'll take it and run with it.

So basically, Aaron Holiday, with just 1-year remaining on his contract, cost us Hutchison, 9 slots in the draft (from 22 to 31), and a future 2nd round pick.

Just here to congratulate you guys on Dinwiddie. I think Marks genuinely helped him get to where he wanted to go and play with Beal. I think you will be really happy with him. I highlighted above just to point out you can’t use a TPE to absorb a player under the S+T rules. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy your new team. You got a really good future and Westbrook returned some great players for that FRP it cost to the Rockets.

So John Wall and a protected FRP for Dinwiddie, Kuzma, KCP, Harrell, Holiday, and Todd. I’d say it’s about an even trade considering. Still hate the trade down to get Holiday and Todd…that was ass IMO.

I don't think its even. Wall was considered the most unmovable contract in the league and we end up with a number of useful expirings, Kuzma and a young prospect in Todd. I wasn't thrilled about the Kuzma addition but it seems like he actually has some trade value around the league. We might be able to get an expiring deal and a 2nd for him if the Wiz aren't interested in paying him for the next 3 years.

Overall its a miracle the Wiz don't have Wall on their payroll currently

One thing that I'm thankful for: Dinwiddie doesn't take long 2s. After years of pulling my hair out because Wall/Westbrook love the most inefficient shot in the game I can watch some modern basketball

In what world is that even? Just give credit where it is due. That doesn't even go into the flexibility with all the smaller pieces too.

Ok ... So I'm glad Neto is coming back, the kid has heart.

If nothing else seems we have some depth...

Bryant, Kuzma, KCP, Beal, Dimwit
Gafford, Bertans, Rui, Kispert, Holiday
Harrell, Todd, Deni, Mathews, Neto

Gil, Hutchison, Homesly, Winston ???

Actually, he had a history of hitting game winners with long 2s in 2019. He hit the game winner at the Lakers in the final game before the pandemic from the same spot.

Winston will be 2 way. Presumably Homesley too? Hutchison went in the Dinwiddie deal -- wish him well.

Gil seems like the odd man out. But... it's early August. More moves may be coming....

Hutch is gone in the Dinwiddie multi-team deal.

Yeah thanks, just saw the Huchison inclusion.... I liked him, wish he got more run with us last year, thought he played well when given the chance.

Still gotta like our depth. Wes is going to have a challenge as a new Head Coach managing egos, and sorting out PT, rotations and roles with this roster.

It's not really a TPE. It was a "virtual TPE". My point stands. With Aaron Holiday out of the transaction, there would have been room to absorb Dinwiddie into the Westbrook trade.

Team has incredible depth. If somehow we could figure out how to play all 14 guys at once, we might be able to actually compete.

Maybe Gil sticks while Bryant starts season on IR, then he's waived once Bryant is ready?
