If I was 26 and had never seen winning Knicks basketball I might GAF! I don't want the Bobcats 2008, or the Magic or the 2010 Hawks. I want conference finals, finals and a title before I leave this Earth. This route is a gold stamped ticket to a round 1 exit.

I mean it’s okay if you don’t want to win a championship. Enjoy these wins I guess. We’ll always watch someone else holding up the trophy but at least we might get into the playoffs.

Realistically speaking - there are about 3 teams every year that can actually win a chip. I don't hear ya'll bitching about any other team that doesn't. I'm 37 years old and been a hardcore fan for 27 years at this point. The best years of my sports life were rooting for those 90's teams that never won a chip. We root for our teams to be good and enjoy watching them play. I really don't know where this championship or bust idea came from with NBA fans but it's wild. All of this is funny too because the reality is that Lebron spoiled everyone by ACTUALLY being a once in a generation franchise changer. Ya'll keep thinking that 1 percent chance of landing the top pick that will also be the second coming of Michael and Magic is a realistic option - it's not. All of those "Franchise" saviors you all salivate over in recent years are likely NEVER winning championships with their teams. This league is for better and worse about actual franchise guys teaming up together now to win chips, it is what it is. The truth is you all want to tank infinitely until you get a player you personally like so that you can satisfy your own ego's about being right. That's all it is, egotism.

This was a great read but I don’t really care what you’ve been through. I just want to watch my team win a championship. I just know that this isn’t the way to do that. Everything else is just “be grateful for what you have” but sports edition. I don’t care I’m sorry.

Yup. According to the diehard tankers the Knicks are the only team in the NBA on a treadmill and somehow 15 other teams with "real stars" will win a championship in the next 2 years. Dudes think teams like the Kings, Minny and Pelicans are any closer to winning a chip just because they got a guy with more ESPN highlights than we got.

There's no actually team building strategy from them either, just draft someone I like and everything else will magically work out. Site should be called unrealisticgm.com

The Heat committed $180 million over 5 years on Danny Devito and Napoleon Dynamite in addition to $180 million to Rachel Nichols Disney bubble F buddy. Oh they're so fantastic. The Bucks should have never signed Middletown and Jrue Holiday to help Giannis because it wasn't Chris Paul and Kevin Durant!!!! Treadmill!!!!!! STFU

Now the argument is “hey..other teams are making bad decisions, so who cares if we are?” Meanwhile the Heat have three championships in the last 15 years.

Not necessarily. It’s like disliking the service at a restaurant but still liking the food. We just have higher expectations, you’re happy as long as the food isn’t burnt.

So what's your foolproof step by step plan to win a championship since you know more than Pat Riley now?

It'll be interesting to experience what being a Hornet / Magic fan feels like for a few years. If you look at the Hornets they finally got a clue, and traded Kemba instead of fooling themselves into thinking they were contending for anything. He was also "aLl-NbA" on a mediocre team and was looking for a max deal. A little older than Randle at 28 though. But below league average efficiency player like Randle. I'd say they waited a year or two too long but actually may have themselves a star if LaMelo continues his development. The Magic have utterly **** everything up and have a bunch of injured or bad players, but still through the power of tanking 'lucked' into Suggs.

The Hornets offered Kemba 5/160

Anyway, Randle is better value and the team around him is better and has more flexibility.

Randle is awesome for this. Not only he came here with bad press (because of the KD/Irving to NYK hype...he turned that around became an all star, all nba teamer... now giving us a discount for us to have cap flexibility. Randle does everything to cater to us. He may not be a superstar but hes on a high tier for the money we pay him. Great contract. 4 years is our window anyway before we blow this up if this fails lol

Theres no foolproof plan. I never claimed to know more than Pat Riley and if that’s what you understood then you should reread where I said that the man has already won a ring for his team before even Bron came. All I can tell you with 100% certainty is that whatever the Knicks are doing is not even close to a path to a championship.

Not necessarily. It’s like disliking the service at a restaurant but still liking the food. We just have higher expectations, you’re happy as long as the food isn’t burnt.

Let's one up your analogy. You dislike the service at a restaurant but still like the food. You decide the best course of action is taking the bits of pieces of the restaurant that make it whole and burning it to ground. Fate and luck will reward you a magic token that elevates you to a 5-star restaurant. The alternative is starting with a foundation and building a better restaurant.

Think about sucking with Fizdale and expecting "stars" to think he's such a nice guy he'll want to play with our awesome lotto picks (Knox and Frank). It's not the way the league works.
