LeBron really did it this time. I really don’t believe they’d beat Phoenix even if perfectly healthy.

Utah either really. Lol. It’s amazing a multi billion dollar organization can be this incompetent with so much information and resources to not be

What are you saying here? Sounds like you’re sayings Lakers shouldn’t have shaken up their roster while also saying that roster couldn’t have beaten the Suns.

Yup lol

I personally wish we just did this:

Brought back THT and AC
Trade Kuz and Trez for Hield
Bring in Dwight
Either bring back Dennis or sign and trade him, our 1st, and 2nds for a guy like Brogdon
Use mle for a big wing like Gay/Green
Sign vet mins like Ariza, Monk, etc

Dennis/Brodgdon, Hield, Bron, AD, Gasol
AC, KCP, THT, Gay/Green, Dwight
Vet mins

But we did what we did and now we got to live with it

Sounds like AD will actually be at the 5....?

Kind of thin, would have been nice to have gotten a big forward like a Gay or Green

If that happens, it happens. I’m going in optimistic, hoping to see good basketball.

This team has clearly defined roles, players with a chip on the shoulder, and I suspect they will have excellent chemistry:

Westbrook / Nunn
Bazemore / Monk / Ellington
Ariza / THT / McKinnie
James / Anthony
Davis / Howard / Gasol

From the standpoint of fit, I can see that team working. The three stars will be called upon to be stars and the others will be called upon to make shots and play defense.

Nobody on the roster will be trying to prove they are somethings they are not, and most everyone will be secure with where they are in the lineup. These are things that are often overlooked but can go a long way towards the success of a roster/team.
Don't believe the hype...

Maybe not at the start of the game but I think he will be more often at the center position this year....In the playoffs,I am sure he will play center almost at full time outside if this is against a team like the nuggets with a great center.

Ariza? Kinda skinny tho. THT is actually bigger than Green for where it matters...longer wingspan and weighs 20 lbs more supposedly. They have so many playable guards I feel like he's gonna get more time at SF

But there's moves to be made at the deadline if need be. No picks ofc, but a lot of tradeable contracts

Milsap is available but he looks cooked.

They have a weird hodge podge of guys. Let's assume AD starts at center, who would you guys start? I think Ellington/Bazemore and Ariza probably works best.

The Lakers didn’t have health at all this past season. If they did, they beat Phoenix.

I.e. LeBron’s ankle and Davis’ everything.

They’re done now though without question.

I saw first hand how Westbrook slammed Houston’s title window shut just with the inability to be flexible alone, let alone the rotten basketball.

It’s over. They’re 3 players deep of positive impact players. Two huge positives but relying on LeBron and AD to utterly smash the NBA on a rare level like 2020 isn’t viable. Not even for those two. AD blew away multiple GOAT-level players best playoff runs.

Larry Bird or Magic never played at +12 level according to 538 RAPTOR for four rounds. That’s a crazy level.

He had a higher ORAPTOR than Luka and as high a DRAPTOR as Gobert. Unlikely to be repeated.

Davis himself doesn’t even play THAT well often. It was their 2001 Lakers run. Or something. Maybe not even that.

Doubt two guys will play like clear cut dominant regular season MVP’s together...in the playoffs again together. It’s much more rare than it sounds. And now they have bad fit, wear and tear and an insanely competitive NBA that has now adjusted to them to deal with.

How has the Nba adjusted to them? You even said they beat Phoenix if healthy and if theyre the worst matchup on paper for Milwaukee or were last season.

Their offensive fit has never been better. We'll see how the defense looks

They did mention this a while ago that Davis and LeBron were willing to be the 4 or 5 for a certain star playmaker to join. I figured it was DeMar since he'd start at the 3 but it could be Westbrook since he's one of the few guards that will help big men on the boards.

Westbrook, Ellington, Ariza, LeBron, Davis -- Nunn, THT, Monk, Bazemore, Melo, Dwight, Gasol

Lakers need to keep him off the Nets. They have the same kind of setup the Warriors did where he got to use 100% of his tank making Lebron work.

Any S'n'T posibilities for Schroder are now dead

Westbrook is just not a winning player, and Lakers are now getting an older, declining Westbrook. Such a desperate move. Westbrook off the ball in LeBron system will be a disaster. Phoenix got stronger aswell with McGee and Shamet, their depth is gonna be huge, so the gap between them and Lakers has only increased.
