Why do you think it is either/or with Duncan and Herro? Both play different styles and have a role on this team. Herro, right now at least, is perfect as a 6th man while Oladipo recovers.

because Herro and Duncan cant be on the court together and they defiantly cant pay both. The organization was always going to pay one and they chose Duncan. Could had easily done and sign and trade and gotten 2 or 3 more players with his money or signed a legit big to play next to bam while putting Herro at the starting rotation.

With who? We tried to trade him for Lowry and the Raps where like NOPE. Who was going pay him the big buck?

For all the people asking about Omer...this is his agent.

Glass explained that the Heat simply was doing what he requested.

“I asked them when we signed [on May 14]” to not exercise the Aug. 1 option “so that when they gave me the option, they could go back to me and do a new deal. They kept their word. The only thing they didn’t do at that time [last Sunday] was make a deal. Now it’s a different time.”

Glass mentioned what happened to the Heat in July 2015, when center Willie Reed was playing for the Heat’s summer league team in Las Vegas and suddenly left to sign a one-year, $500,000 deal with Brooklyn.

“I remember Willie Reed left in the gym,” Glass said. “That’s not who I am, especially after the [Heat] spent time and money on one of my players. Omer is not leaving the gym without talking to Miami.”

Glass, a longtime agent, said: “After I made 300 phone calls on behalf of Omer, they were the only ones that stepped up to the plate and there’s a value to that. We do feel a certain appreciation toward the Heat and on a practical level, we’ve seen what they’ve been able to do [developing young players]. He’s unique in that he’s 7 feet and has a skill set that’s not normal.

“He’s willing to learn, and he has things that you cannot teach. Miami knows that and now apparently have some others. We’re thrilled with how he’s playing.”

Omer really changes the dynamic if he can be a key contributor here. A big man who can spread the floor, use a post game, and even play a little defense would have a dramatic effect on this team if he can play on this level in NBA games.

Omer would be everything that Whiteside wanted to be at a fraction of the cost. Imagine that! :reporter:

Good to know, glad we essentially have him locked up. I hope we sign him for the minimum and don't have him as one of the 2 way contracts. I'd really like to keep Marcus Garrett and DJ Stewart as well. Unless we aren't planning on filling the 15 man then adding two 2-way contracts on top of that and we just fill the rest of the 15 man roster with 2 ways.

His offensive game appears very translatable. Defensively he needs work, but as DoM said earlier, we have a lot of quality defenders on the roster to help him here. I can imagine he will be foul prone at the next level, but would like to see him get an opportunity. His stroke and range are legit.

So what realistic signings can we afford for PG/SG?
Bradley/Hart? Don’t know if Hart is requesting a lot of $$

J. Winslow or nothing.

Guy can play back-up pg, sg, sf, pf, and c. He's a swiss army knife - good/satisfactory at many things but not great at any one particular thing. Do it Pat. Just fking do it.

I don’t mind Winslow signing.. but if we get Bradley we would ultimately have the best defensive PG rotation in the league (Lowry,Bradley, dipo). Bradley and Dipo can both play SG also. We would clamp down any teams back court with butler playing SG also

I know a lot are pushing for Winslow but I think the Heat broke him during his time here. I don’t think he wants to come back and the Heat don’t want him back. He was dealing with some mental issues during his time here.

MWP was saying we should get a backup PG and SF. Winslow would satisfy both. Just sign the beast.

Bradley is the ultimate wild card. I would give him a two year guaranteed deal to smooth anything over with last year’s trade. Maybe even a limited no trade clause.

It sounds great in theory i just don’t think the Heat want to go down the road with him again.

Has Winnie gone back to lay-up school and graduated yet, because if he hasn’t yet, I’m good on watching him in a Heat uniform again missing a bunch of gimmies.

DSJ ain’t missing a gimmie.

He’s gonna punch it through the rim.

Mia lacks those kind of finishers on their current roster.
