I fully doubt the Dinwiddie rumor. That seems to be generated by Dinwiddie, then picked up by Mayo. Because he is friendly with the Beals anything he mentions gets picked up by other outlets. Once it is in the echo chamber then it gains its own momentum.

As for Holiday. I expect since Tommy and the analytics guys like him enough to trade for him, they will try to offer him an extension before he breaks out.

As for Givony, I'd bet he would give you the time if you hit him up on twitter. Doesn't hurt to write an appreciation letter and re-introduce yourself. He seems like a decent guy and is humble enough to realize how he got his start.

I hope you're right there. The only way I'd accept Dinwiddie is if he wants a 1 year prove-it contract - which is possible, because I don't think a lot of other teams will be particularly interested in him - especially with him coming off a major injury. Trade with Cleveland please.

What would it take to get Sexton?

And isn’t he seen as a locker room problem in Cleveland?

80sbb, THANK YOU!

My feeling about this draft is it would have been pretty much perfect just Kispert and Isaiah Jackson, the latter is a Gafford-type pogo stick player.

I wish I could explain...Jackson has eye-popping moments and his numbers at Kentucky shine like Neon on aluminum foil. Isaiah should have been the pick as far as I'm concerned.

It's hard to get a gage, because he doesn't fit the profile of a PG or a SG. I think he was expected to be more of a PG coming out of Alabama, but he's been used primarily as a 2 in the NBA - despite being only 6'2. He's one of the fastest guards in the NBA and has a nice 3 ball. Defense has been a problem - he'd be fine defensively against PGs, but size has been a problem for him, because he's under-sized at the 2. He'd be most valuable to a team with a big PG that can defend 2's, so he can defend PG's. Tbh, for the Wiz - I'd rather have Garland - a better fit, and has a very close relationship with Beal. Cleveland needs a 3 that's a knock-down 3 point shooter. They have a nice set-up up front by adding Mobley to Allen and Nance - and don't appear to want to keep Love, but they lack 3 point shooting. I'm sure they'd love a knock-down 3 point shooter at SF - but Kispert might not be enough to get Garland. If we take Love off their hands, and they take Bertans and another couple of players from the Westbrook trade, maybe something could be worked out, but getting Love wouldn't be ideal for the Wiz.

If Garland comes in the package, I would not mind taking Love. I think he has more left in the tank than he showed last year and can still be an above average starting power forward in this league. His defense will suck but his perimeter shooting and rebounding is still at a competent level. It will be even easier to move him next offseason with one final year left on his deal

Let's see. You wouldn't mind having Kevin Love. He's not exactly the Karl Malone or A.C. Green of durable power forwards. Basically, he would just take space on the roster and might play 1/2 the season.

I am hoping they come away with Kevin Love. He could be the difference between a round one exit and advancing. I’ve looked at his numbers and he is still a quality rebounder and he shoots at three point shot really well. He has not forgotten how to play basketball. He can start at Center or power forward and the team won’t be terrible.

If KL is Kawhi Leonard instead of Kevin Love, then I'm in. Assuming Kawhi re-signs with LAC, LAC's going to be paying a huge lux tax bill.

Kawhi’s knees? I think he is a Los Angeles guy—his family is going to want to keep him there IMO. I can’t see any scenario that Kawhi would want to be a Washington Wizard.

The Wizards made so many moves that I just have to rethink my stuff about Kevin Love

Todd may turn out to be a great player.... But I'd love to see Jared Butler on this roster right now.

Given the way the roster has shaken out after the Westbrook trade, I'd certainly prefer Jared Butler plus Garrison Mathews instead of Neto and Todd.

Though, on the other hand, I suppose the plan is for Dinwiddie and Holiday to man the PG position for the next several years. Butler would never find many minutes.

BTW - Todd shot 40% from 3 with the Go-Go (on over 6 shots per game). That's pretty promising.

I always had faith in him as a shooter. My concern was his physicality and IQ. That said, he shows strong processing skills passing in the low post and think he profiles well in the short roll.
I hate his defense right now as a Big, but he has great feet and can switch on the perimeter very well. Profiles as a stretch big that can really exploit mismatches. Good pick.

Excellent ballhandler, decision maker, slasher. Can operate effectively the P&R. Not an athlete but the advanced handle helps him get to the rim. He's not a guy I'm necessarily talking about drafting unless we had a pick in the 50s and others were off the board but as a free agent I think he's absolutely worth a look.

I know it’s still early, but it’s starting to look like Tommy completely whiffed this year’s draft.

Per game, he's getting 1.3 assists and 1.8 to's. That kind of ratio usually indicates a low BBIQ, but he's only 20, so there's plenty of time for him to improve. Also doesn't get a lot of steals or blocks and gets less than 1 FT a game. But the 3 point shooting sounds very promising, and he's an NBA quality athlete.

Only difference b/w Ernie & Tommy is the type of players they went for. The results are decidedly mixed yet similar. Ernie erred on athleticism/skill and often would ignore basketball character & maturity. Tommy over compensated by focusing on maturity character & IQ over athletic ability. Avdija & Kispert especially are highly intelligent. I suspect Kispert will figure it out... maybe not this year tho. I saw him as a Joe Harris type who took a few seasons to find his niche.

Yeah. I hate asking people to "Look beyond the numbers", but we sorta have to with projecting 19/20 y/o players.
His passing numbers are bad, but when you watch the tape you see a guy that processes the floor pretty well. His first instinct is as a scorer, no doubt about it, but when he does pass the ball you see him find guys that someone with tunnel vision just simply wouldnt see.
I'll look for some tape...

Tbh, the tape on him from Ignite didn't impress me - other than his athleticism and jump shot, but again - he was 19 then and has plenty of time to improve - and having a 3 point shot and athleticism is a great start. Hopefully they coach him up well.
