I'm not totally familiar with how Merrill looked but at first glance, nice for the Bucks. Allen was pretty solid last year.

Getting back the 2nds we used to move up for Santi.

EDIT: For MIL, I think this a great pickup for the price. Allen was a low end starter on our team last year. Getting him for two 2nds is nice and he'll be a RFA next offseason if they want to keep him long term.

Great move for the Bucks, Allen is a headcase, but he's talented and can fill for the Forbes role, even better than him.

Ok...I wonder if we traded Allen into an exception they had? And Merrill into one of our exceptions and he is still unGTD. Be nice to be able to give him a look and waive him and save the whole cap space.

Yeah he is going into the DJ Augustin TPE per Smitty. And we now have a little extra cap space if we wanted to use it on someone.

Also I just looked and there are a couple non-MIL 2nds that could be part of the trade. Better of IND/MIA 2026 2nd for example.

Makes sense. Allen is the better win-now player, and as mentioned makes a good Forbes replacement.

For Memphis, Allen is also expiring, and with their depth there's a good chance he wouldn't have been brought back next year anyway, so get some keeper assets albeit minor ones.

This team has legit depth now.. And now they don't need to rely on Hood at all, anything he gives is an added bonus.

Allen is a defensive sieve, but he can get hot, and you could do worse for a 10th or 11th man. Like it for Memphis, too. Allen should not have been taking minutes from Melton, and now he won't.

From the Grizzlies perspective, I am not happy with the return because he is a better player than 2 2nds, but I believe that is the market. Let it be then. We need to move forward.

Yeah he is going into the DJ Augustin TPE per Smitty. And we now have a little extra cap space if we wanted to use it on someone.

Also I just looked and there are a couple non-MIL 2nds that could be part of the trade. Better of IND/MIA 2026 2nd for example.

If we can waive Merrill as an UNGTD then I have us 5 million below the cap with the draft picks holds. That could be wiggle room needed to do a trade/SNT maybe using Jones or Bledsoe.

Love this for MIL. Allen obviously isnt replacing Tucker but he brings some of the dog that PJ did.
