Definitely don't want Dallas's garbage contracts that they're probably trying to offer i.e Powell.

If that deal falls through, I'm sure Masai knows the Dallas package will always be there. 6ers are on the clock.

the only other big salary the Sixers have to include in a trade that's in the ballpark for Pascal+Dragic is Tobias' contract. Everyone else besides Joel is on relatively cheap deals.

Have we gotten any indications Dragic even wants to play in Toronto? Last I heard he hadn't even been contacted by the Raptors.

It's clear he wants to play in a specific situation so I don't imagine he would be thrilled sticking around for a few months when both sides don't really want each other.

Can we get real. Raps do not want Ben Simmons, nor are they looking to deal Siakim.

They want him at the right price (which is now).
If he doesnt work out, they can flip in for better assets than a Pascal could get you.

Simmons definitely doesn't want to play here he wants to go to LA and live the LA lifestyle. I don't believe we're trying to get him. However with Pascal there has been rumblings all summer that we're looking to move him and then the whole issue with him and Nurse last season I'll be shocked if he's not traded by the trade deadline. He would be a valuable piece to add to a young core or a team that just needs a little push to go into contention. Him on GS is a very, very dangerous team.

The trade Da is probably would of been Burks and Powell. That's it. Would mean Raptors taking on additional 11 million salary for an additional season.

There's absolutely no advantage to for the Raptors to do this.

*Shrug* if they play hard ball trade him mid season or just let him expire/walk to free up cap room in the off season.

Unless raptors take powell there is no deal to be done. And mavs cant give away assets for renting a 35 yo dragic for a season. If they want a 2nd, fine, but mavs cant give away young assets for him. Mavs know that, raptors know tvat. And luka havent asked for dragic, thats just raptors talk. He knows as well as we that mavs isnt winning it this year whether dragic joins or not

That is totally fine by us. I'd argue one team is more affected by this trade not happening than the other. It's just a matter of waiting it out.

well the deal will literally just be us taking back extra money for no season so it wont get done, chances are hes staying. unless their is real incentive to give dragic away for a worse player with an extra yea in powell theres no point for the raptors to do a trade

I say hold onto Dragic until the trade deadline where the Mavs are desperate. We've got nothing to prove this season.

We lose absolutely nothing by keeping Dragic except maybe a few spots in the draft order cause he can actually help us. If Mavs don't want to give up anything of value then they can kick rocks.

2yr deals are the new expiring because as soon as the season is up, there will be a market for an expiring contract.

But I get the hold up for not wanting to take the Powell contract

Both previous and birch are better options then Powell for less money. Mavs absolutely need to add something

Probably. SnT with schröder for 20+/year is my guess. Im still trying to figure out who will try to get capspace for next year, but cant see any clear candidates and my feeling is that most of the big names just will resign in their current franchises, so no clear path there to someone that want an expiring.

If raptors dont plan to be very good this season, I think its better for them to just buy dragic out and sign some young talents for the cap that opens up. And Im going to against all beliefs and say that if dragic is bought out, he will sign with orlando since that is closer then dallas to miami where his kids go to school.

If he doesn't want to play in Toronto it means he pulls what Iguodala did in Memphis or he gets bought out so it does matter.
