I'd bet they've already agreed on a deal, but Masai is going to hold on to Dragic for 60 days to get extra compensation from Miami (which they're desperately trying to avoid, hence the wait) and then will flip him to Dallas once Dragic and Brown become tradeable. They just have to leak this so Miami is still obligated. Expect a trade on Sept. 5th or so. Still gives the acquisitions time to acclimate before the season starts.

This would be such a win/win. Getting extra prospects from Miami and from Dallas.

No way I let him stay home or buyout. He is a valuable PG to Combo definitely very good backup and can start in pinch see last to playoff runs for Miami.

Burke, Brown and Kilber + trade exception from Josh R = Dragic where they work out 2 year extension for less money in year 2-3 so they get more value and we get value of him.
We get longer C and maybe he can start after he learns system. Kilber OK as bench big from 3 and Burke decent 3rd PG that maybe we can trade later for bigger PG to be more supportive of FVV and MF but D Johnson may fit that with time although I think he could be good handling and passing backup SG too.

And another one. U cant combine the tpe with players to take in a bigger salary. It must always fit in the toe. And ofc, mavs would never trade kleber for dragic

I assumed in order to meet the initially advertised 3yr/$90M, that we were getting KZ and that lessened the sting of missing out on some valuable FA opportunities....but we didn't and that's bad time & cap management.

There isn't a single player on the Mavs roster that the Raptors genuinely want.

Powell runs an extra year, which they don't want, but could possibly agree to with the right grease/sweetener. But between Burke, WCS, DFS, Green, or Terry, not a single one (or even pair) of them makes much sense and wouldn't be enticement enough for the extra year of Powell.

Toronto probably wants either a pick, or for Dallas to make some other trade to find a player we'd be willing to take. Some beat guy or national reporter should probably ask around if Dallas has beating the bushes for a smaller trade or not, as that would be a strong clue as to what is happening (or not).

only way toronto does that deal is if they get a first rounder and josh green. dallas wants him badly and we are fine with playing him and dealing him at deadline they can fly a kite

Of course we'll hope whichever team bites at the deadline nets us some other decent young piece but don't think it's outta the question for Goran to try to push a trade somewhere (ie DAL) or push to be bought out. You can say no chance but how many of you pegged that we would make this trade as it is?? Answer is nobody.

I don't know that Achiuwa was ever included at the trade deadline. All of the talk was about Dragic along with Kendrick Nunn and/or Duncan Robinson...and I don't think we would have wanted to resign either.

This is a different kind of trade than the one discussed at the trade deadline.

Really? Now we're comparing what the Pelicans got for Jrue -- who was still under contract for a season -- to a FA Lowry that went to a team that had the ability to sign him outright? This board... lol

They could of been done on day 1 with nothing else to discuss. You can't really announce anything until today when deals are officially signed.
