Smitty also reporting that the Celts are apparently talking to Schroeder, but they want to offer a 1-year deal and he still wants longer (and/or more $).

Smart isn't going to sign that extension offer. This seems like the prelude to a trade.

I had a similar but slightly different thought, which is Schroder SnT with a big year 1 number to Boston, and un guaranteed on the back end, Smart to LA, and probably unprotected pick from LA to Boston.

Is the Goran Dragic saga over? Raptors have posted a welcome tweet for Precious, but not Goran Dragic.

He can be shipped out immediately if not paired with another player.

Can't imagine clippers paying that much for a lotto team if they end up on that route.

Right now I've got Portland, GSW and LAC as 6-8 in the WC in some order. So some big money for low-end playoff teams. Though the Clippers would be the best title odds of the 3 right now as it's possible Kwahi is playoff ready though I doubt he contributes much during the regular season.

I think the teams only slightly in the tax are better targets especially if their seasons aren't going great. Dipping down saves some money, but more importantly gets them a cut of the luxury tax payouts.

Depend on who is out of their rotation and who is out of the play-in.
Some of the team might want drop their 14/15th guy to open a spot for a buyout and drop the higher tax bracket. More so when deals at that point in time are pro rated so will be lower to their tax .
Example : GSW moved paschall for 2nd and it saved them like 12m in luxury tax . Are there similar moves that can save a team like 5-8m for a minimum salary player ? More so when said player is not amongst their top 12 players ?
