I don't know what to say.
Per 36 Merrill and Allen look the same.

I believe Sam Merrill is a gifted natural shooter. He can shoot effortless even with a hand in his face. I think Allen can't do that, he looks like more of a streaky shooter.
My boy got traded and I am pissed that I have to change my avatar again.
Don't mind me, but adding 2 2nds to Merrill for Allen looks like we overpaid. Lets see what he got. I want to see him under pressure how he shoots, on a winning championship team.

NEVER compare the per 36 of a player who plays 2 minutes a game  Grayson allen is much much better than Merril both as an overall offensive player and especially as a defender.

Grayson has performed in actual games against legit starters while Merrill got his stats in garbage time. Also, they are the same age, both have one year left on there contracts, and Grayson has a ton more minutes of NBA play to back up his stats.

Sorry to those who like Mountain West Luka but he was going to get cut before 8/8 if he wasn’t traded.

They could do it with one player, a starting quality 3/4 who can defend and shoot decently. Batum and Gay would have fit like a glove. What other viable options are there in a trade or FA?

Dorian Finney-Smith would be a big get. It would likely take a Donte trade, and I’m pretty sure Dallas loves him, but he’d be great.
He was definitively their second best player in the playoffs. While that says a lot about Dallas's abilities to surround Luka with talent, they aren't going to give him up for Donte.

I'm kinda ootl so does anyone know which 2nds we've sent? Merrill was worthless but if we've sent both 2nds we acquired in the #31 deal I'd feel bad.

I was never a big Cousins fan but if he'll take the minimum he could form a pretty sweet Bash Brothers with Portis.

Looks like we all needed to have some patience until the plan was played out. I love this move!

It was for free agency haha. Don't know why Rudy Gay isn't a Buck if he took the tpmle from Utah.

Hill is better and more important.

After people we're ready to get out the pitchforks, I'd give this offseason a B. Yet to be seen essentially.

- We retained Portis, which hardly anyone expected. Almost like signing a whole new player.
- Yes, we whiffed on the top role players this class but not surprising. Its obvious after 10 or so guys went elsewhere that we are not at the top of peoples' lists.
- Hill is solid
- Two solid backups in Hood and Grayson, betting on Hood getting back to his pre-injury form.

Definitely better than our roster at this point last year.

Great post although i dint think grayson is a backup at all wouldnt surprise me if grayson is the starting SG with donte as that solid backup either way i agree.
Donte has to become more consistent in his shooting cause grayson can shoot really well

Ah yes, we are going to miss all of the clutch shots that Merrill made in the playoffs this year.

Damn, I am not going to lie, I am jazzed about this move! Not only is Allen a pretty decent shooter, he's athletic and just a more dynamic scorer than Forbes and Teague combined. Him and Hood are clear upgrades defensively. If Hood is not completely washed, that's two pretty bouncy, athletic guards who can score all types of ways.

Throw in old man Hill who gives you super solid PG play and 3pt shooting. Then Nwora, who gives you potential microwave scoring on the 3rd team. Less pressure on him to perform this year, can grow behind a pretty talented cast of players.
