Good shooting start for a 22-14 1ST Q lead, though we've cooled down in efficiency.
Looking better in transition. Primo has some shot selection issues he's learn from, but both he and Devin have a really nice touch.
I guess Primo has the green light to shoot 3s because he's just taking the lot of them.
Both are displaying some great BBIQ and feel for the game. Devin's D awareness is terrific; Primo's court vision is impressive.
Some highlights:
Elbow midrange? Right here:
Pretty and smooth:
Spurs D to Devin O with style on both ends:

Some nice plays dispersed through a lot more misses as the 2ND Q wore on. And with the opponent making a push, our eight-point lead has turned into a 35-3 deficit at half time.
It's really about the reps our players are getting and the opportunities they are creating for themselves, as well as showing the results of summer training. To that end, Devin's handles are looking better; he's more comfortable making decisions with the ball, but at times he does telegraph them, so once they're more automatic in his toolkit he'll hopefully be able to disguise them better.

Rough 3RD Q in that nobody can make a shot for us. We seem to have a lot of nice guys some with some finesse talent but we don't really look like we know how to figure out how to get out of a rut. And so without set plays or set plays that aren't working, there are 3s attempts.
Devin looks like he wants to try some new things out there, but he doesn't have the alpha take over mentality - at least not yet. Primo has been assertive if also inefficient.
What tends to happen with misses is that these young Spurs are getting outhustled and retreating with D rebounds ripped out of their hands, with no O rebounding, with one and done outside shots.
It would be nice to see some more flow in getting shots up - it's not about the score, it's about the execution.

Ok it was good to see some fight in the final Q. It's like a mental lid was taken off and closed the gap to make it very close. But the point again is how we responded, and so from that stand point it was a fine finish.
Pretty shot Devin I think led the SL Spurs in scoring but on low efficiency. His decisions with the ball need some improving even if his handles are better. He had a couple of chances against a bigger opponent switched onto him and pulled back or couldn't figure out how to drive at him. He later pulled back again but for a step back 3 that went in.
Primo is actually more skilled at shot creation than Devin right now and he showed it:
I loved the D awareness they both showed. There were times when Primo was the help D when a ball handler curled over his corner man and Primo was to step up but just watched the drive instead, and there were times when Primo stayed wih the play and got a block from behind.
I really liked how Devin put his arms around Primo and I think Jeffries on the court after the game and was talking to them, looking like the leader imparting words of wisdom. Good to see.

Primo actually has a decent shot and already looks more natural shooting than Dejounte.
Can get his own jumper as well, again better than Dejounte.
Vassell looked like Demar with all those midrangers.
Given the current era of play, he needs to be a high volume three point shooter to maximise his success imo.
