Congrats to the USA. It wasn't convincing but it was enough. It'll be interesting to see what kind of team the US brings for the next World Cup/Olympics.

Defensively, USA put the clamps down on Fournier. He had a really tough night.

Team USA looked like an NBA 8th seed out there, you take KD off this team, they wouldn't even win bronze.

This was one of the worst USA teams to ever play, like this was up there with AI and Marbury Olympic team.

KD shouldn't have to carry a bunch of guys in their prime to a gold medal. It was sad.

Welp, maybe next time we can get more than 1 of the 10 Americans who made an All-NBA team this year.

We should be thankful the rest of the world skipped a ton of their elite as well.

He was great against the Czech Republic, but considering the stakes, it's hard to argue. I've been on his ass pretty much from the very start, but we wouldn't have won without him tonight.
I'll take your word for it; Czech Republic was during work for me so I scanned the box scores at work and watched highlights. It wasn't just that he was bad against Australia, Spain, and France (before), it's that we all know what he can do and how far below that level he was playing

You would think Zion, Cunningham, Mitchell, Tatum, Morant, Booker, Young, etc.

Jrue was good. Draymond and Bam were good defensively.

Guards like Lillard never performed well for USA. Kyle Lowry sucked too. Athletic slashing guards always worked for team USA.

I think the Team USA has a style and that's athletic, free flowing, high pressure, aggressive basketball. The Team went away from that for this half court, slow, grinding style and that style favors guys like KD and Tatum, who need to hold on to the ball, post up, jab step, step back and then shoot.

In a style like that, you don't need a Lillard. They should've gotten Marcus Smart and Miles Bridges to go with Jrue Holiday and Zach Lavine.

Put everybody at full strength and I will be more than happy enough to take our chances. It's just that people have been saying this all tournament and I'm done biting my tongue. "If you take KD off this team..." Lol, so we can't have any of our super elite players? It's like saying Argentina wouldn't have won the World Cup without Maradona. Yeah, no sht. That's how it works.

He was missing wide-open threes whereas he had one of the greatest seasons ever shooting contested threes off of pull ups in NBA history. He couldn’t even make free throws today.

No, I'm not saying he had a good tournament. He was disappointing overall. But he did have a great game against them, and he was excellent in the fourth quarter against Spain. And then of course tonight. So at least he showed up when it counted. We needed him badly tonight.

That was absolutely stupefying. 89 percent career FT shooter bricks both in the final minute. Could have cost us a gold medal.

Miss Basketball on NBC. The coverage was solid. Watching the game was fluid and entertaining. Game was less than 2 hours. (40 vs 48 min game but still) NBA has too much stoppage and commercials.

Theme song is still legendary.

Well no ****. We are the overwhelming favorites. We had MORE than enough theoretical talent to win this tournament with ease as is. Fact remains that if the other nations brought their best, we probably would have lost at some point with this squad. I'm just glad that they did not as well.
