Logically it is what we should do.. but personally I think they wait for the deadline. Give some good vet influence to our young guys early on the season and a "reward" to our vets to.which contender they wanna ring chase with.

A trade only makes sense to serve one of two purposes.
1. We trade a vet or expiring contract to obtain a future asset.
2. We consolidate assets into a high level, young player at a position of weakness. Fitting our timeline.

Agreed! Would love to give him a try in the league. And he has amazing achievements... Under 30 still.... I'll rather give him a look-see... Though I am an Ennis fan.

I'm totally down to ride with what we have. With so many teams taking leaps forward... I wouldn't mind us staying respectfully at the bottom for the next draft while allowing our guys to grow with less barriers than players like Ingram and sabonis. So future assets or young players with multiple year contracts would be great. Spend the year or two figuring out who we should focus on... And consolidate the rest.

I know people like to say we need to trade for a young star, and guys like Brandon Ingram are brought up, but guys like that aren't really available unless they are getting moved for a legit star in return.

Look at Ingram, he was moved with Ball and picks for Anthony Davis. Ingram was the prize of that trade, and he had been terrible with the Lakers. You could sort of see he was going to be good, but he by no means was in LA.

I don't know why he's talking about loyalty. The coach that brought him in is gone. I'm sure Clifford would love to bring him along to his next stop if that ever happens again.
