For the people more adept than myself when it comes to cap/trades....I don't want to entertain it but i'm interested to see what are we looking at giving up if Beal decides to leave Wiz.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

He played very well for Australia in the Olympics and has a pretty versatile game. I feel his size would be useful off the bench, he’s solid defensively and would be a good fit alongside Herro in the backcourt.
He can hold the fort while Dipo is out, then revert to third string once he’s healthy.
Honestly think a bunch of these players like Exum are holding out for more money and we are waiting a few of these players out to see if they take the vet minimum.

I feel like Chicago is definitely going to be punished since the Ball S&T was announced 30s into free agency and was pretty complicated deal. Plus I don't believe there was any rumours about a deal being close to being made for him at the deadline.
But both Shams and Woj officially announced Lowry to Miami 38mins into free agency and more than likely the discussions being had were between Lowry and Butler and relayed by Butler to Pat.
Just got to hope Butler didn't relay messages from Kyle to Riley and the FO through texts and the FO are smart enough not to message or email Lowry or Toronto prior to FA.

He’s got a great first step, thinks the game through and has size. If not injury he’d be a pretty good nba player. He’s be a great fit. Also he’s aussie so you kmow he’s gonna play hard which jimmy will get around

If Beal was ever to leave it seems it won't be until he receives the supermax extension from Washington then he would force his way out. But for us to get him we'd likely have to send something like Robinson, Herro, Tucker and 3FRPs and 3pick swaps minimum.
But reality of the situation is we likely can't get any deal done as we'd have to unlock more picks somehow and we don't have the assets to do that and have a package to trade for Beal. Max we could offer next offseason would be Robinson, Herro, Tucker, 2027 FRP and a 2028 pick swap
The only possibility is Beal threatens to opt out of his deal and leave to go somewhere else for nothing unless they supermax and trade him to us without receiving as many picks in return. But seems very unlikely that Beal would leave that money on the table so I'd say there's likely no shot that happens.

Communications probably made through hard to prove back channels. Heat had to have been prepared for this. These guys have so many burners that if the NBA takes hold of primary communications they ain’t finding anything.

Appreciate that.
We're close. We're just missing that whale/prolific scorer to make us legit. If Bam cld be that cat we'd be alright but he keeps playin'. I'm intrigued to see the leap Herro takes this season. As much as some may disagree he's a key piece to our success. I'm pullin' for him.

Looks like we’re going more 2004 Pistons mode. Although it’s hard to believe that was 17 years ago…probably the next most egalitarian champs were the Spurs that beat us back in 2014.
Between Butler, Lowry, Adebayo, Robinson, Oladipo and Herro, we should have enough offense. But we’re gonna need to win enough regular season games to have home court for playoffs. Need luck on the health front this year, as well as a leap from Bam and Tyler.
While we look at our roster as a veteran one, we do have younger guys like Bam, Tyler, Duncan (to an extent), Strus, Okpala and now Yurt that we can develop too. In an 82 game season, we will need everyone.

Now that I thiink about it, I wonder if it was the fake Cuban pos in dallas who complained to the NBA execs about this, wasn't it.

What I'm not understanding about this "tampering" here is who is supposed to be the aggrieved party? Raptors had no intention of retaining Lowry and wanted to S&T him. Miami wanted Lowry, Lowry wanted Miami, Toronto wanted to send Lowry to Miami
Aside from this being a victimless "crime", I find it extremely unlikely that Miami was communicating directly with Lowry about the new contract terms when Toronto could've been the intermediary on that front, which would all be perfectly legal. Especially since Miami and Toronto were already communicating for months over the trade framework in the first place

Was looking at this old video of Yurtseven from around the draft last year. Looks as if he's made good strides cutting back his body fat% since then.

Re: MIAMI HEAT Offseason Thread 2021 Vol.4 - Beasley Time
One thing I've noticed watching Lowry highlights is very often most of the opposing team gets caught ball watching when he has the ball. I think that's an element we haven't had much on this team, not with Jimmy or with Dragic.
A lot of the time I think opposing teams were comfortable single covering Dragic, Nunn and would rather have Butler go to the rim then let our shooters get off so they were more focused on them.
With Lowry running things I think its going to open up so many things for us offensively. If guys are ball watching Lowry, Bam or Jimmy going to make the right cut for easy buckets and I think Duncan and Herro are going to have a much easier time getting open shots.
All those times we'd get frustrated with Robinson and Bam constantly running dribble hand offs a ton of those will now run through Lowry and rather than teams trapping Duncan and that being the end of the play and we reset, Lowry will now run it and be far more dynamic with the ball and able to put the ball on the floor and make secondary plays if the shots not there.

Re: MIAMI HEAT Offseason Thread 2021 Vol.4 - Beasley Time
Its about versatility. Nothing wrong with DHOs in its self. Any one scheme can be stopped. Specifically in the playoffs. That is why Antoni/Harden top of the key offense went from unstoppable in regular season to stoppable in the playoffs. That is why the Heat were able to stop the Bucks offense a year ago and couldn't the following year. Bucks offense went from one dimensional point Giannis to multidimensional with the added Holiday.dean456 wrote:

Versatility forces defenses not to able to just take out one key aspect of an offense.

This team will be like Riley’s old Heat teams. Tucker and Queef will be PJ Brown.
Bam, will be asked to play the Zo role.
Lowry is Timmy
Jimmy is going to be Mashburn minus the choking a last second shot.
Duncan will be Leonard.
What we lack, is our Dan Majerle.
The Big Yogurt and Dedmon are our Ike Austin.
Herro is Brent Barry and will be traded soon.

I think Miami became a much stronger team this offseason. They added defensive versatility, an additional shot creator, rebounding, and toughness. Miami looked at what made them successful in 2019 and rebalanced their roster accordingly. I can’t wait to see how the new additions complement this team.
