Wait so the Blazers are playing Michael Beasley, Kenneth Faried, and Emmanuel Mudiay in Summer League? Is that weird?

Mudiay has missed the entire last season and is on the verge of going to Europe (he was reported to be in advanced talks with a middle of the pack Euroleague club). So him playing in summer league and trying to hang on to the NBA dream isn't weird. Not sure about the other two though.

Guess you got to do what you got to do to try and stay in the league. Just not used to seeing that many vets on a SL roster

I'm super excited for the game later today, but I think I need to temper my expectations going into it.

I have to remind myself that there are a BUNCH of really young kids on our SL roster and they have only been practicing with each other for a week.

Agreed, Brandon Knight and Jeremy Lin are also fighting to get back into the league. I think it's admirable, why should they retire when they feel like they still have something left in the tank?

I don't understand why teams cut guys in their 30's loose because they're injury prone. It's not like you have to pay them starter money anymore. They also understand how hard you have to work to make it in the league.

Every team needs several of those guys, especially if they can contribute and you only have to pay them the minimum. The Heat understand this and it's a major competitive advantage for them. They invest in players other teams overlook.

That, and most of them will try to do too much in order to impress everyone. Summer league in a nutshell.

Didn't he hurt his knee and is out? I can't remember

Think that was Nate Darling.

So we are zero minutes into Bouknight's career and I already like him more than Monk, just from this interview

He's hungry, he speaks eloquently, he is serious about playing and winning, its everything we wanted from Malik
